This season has worked against us from the first day, and we are still in the fight, I could go to many instances of odds being stacked against us due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but you can only keep on fighting which we are doing, A lot depends on a man slagged on here regularly but who I have a sneaking regard for. One Alan Pardue, if he can keep the likes of Conner Zaha and Bolasie focused this week, no easy task, and come to the NE and give his avian critics a black eye while raising the spirits of the Feline variety he will have justified my faith.
Very few teams will have 'nothing to play for' when the Euro's are coming up in a few weeks, there's gonna be players trying to get involved in that for certain.
Think you'll find the only thing that worked against us from the first day was us really! I'm always one for conspiracy theories but there are none this year - other years we've had nightmare games but this year we looked at our fixtures and assumed we'd be healthy by mid october - we, at the start of the season, were our own worst enemies. I agree with the rest of your post though!!
Correct. ****ing about in the USA instead of grafting. When the fixture came out everyone thought 'thats a canny run for starters' yet screwed it up.
West Ham are playing well but they like spurs are due a slip up. Leicester have been fortunate this season with injuries and must have a good disciplinary record as well as i don't recall many suspensions. i think Leicester will also lose another game before the end of the season, they have a couple of tough games left, but against who? just hoping Man Utd still need a win on the last day to get into the top 4.
Re - Palace. If they're on a high, beat Newcastle, good for us. If Newcastle win, Palace get nervous and have their minds on the cup, could they be catchable? We'd have to win a lot mind. Swansea also are left with 3 very loseable games. Still, we win 4 of 4 and the rest can do what they like.
We will need to win all of our games mate, to get top four, if we are 4 points away from fourth with one game remaining, we won't have much going on... we're playing Bournemouth last in the league anyway so I don't know what you're bothered about to be honest.
Villa have lost 10 consecutive games so will want to halt that run, and Spurs will not have a nowt to play for attitude. Palace will be hard to play as well. We should beat Stoke and draw the other 3 games to get to 37 points and will 100% keep us up. And Man u can certainly win at Norwich forTel and do us a massive favour.
Have they changed your medication or something? Depressing "Sack Sam Allardyce" ****e for ages then suddenly positivity personified!
Well, West Brom had nothing to play for last night and look how they did. As SA says, it is all about handling the pressure and Spurs were not able to do it last night. West Brom were not under pressure. I expect a tough game. At Stoke and would take a point now. A lot of twists and turns left in this but if we play like we did in the second half against Arsenal, I will be happy. The Mags have had a huge amount of luck in the last few games, I am hoping that cannot go on much longer
You think wrong. There may be quite a few hoping but when you're second bottom of the league on merit you'd be crazy to expect anything from any game. The vast majority were resigned to relegation quite a while ago and I don't think much has changed. We've given ourselves a chance but realistically we need help from yourselves and Norwich.
Dont get me wrong, we were a shambles in the first few games, our defence was shocking, and we had to turn again to JoS for help. Looking at the fixture list like most I thought it looked favourable for once, but with hindsight it was anything but, the three promoted teams, tipped to go straight back down by many, and even Lester were some pundits relegation candidates, they all got off to flyers and no need to say who gave Lester a dream start in a game which looked winnable, we walked unprepared into the team of the season, and never really recovered from the shock until after Xmas. Funny game football as two of the back four at Lester were in this weeks Times team of the week.
