    I would like to confirm that progress has been made from the start of this season;

    The first 15 games we took...20 points...6 wins...7 defeats...2 draws..!

    The middle 15 games a total of 17 points...5 wins...9 defeats...2 draws..!

    The last 15 games we took...21 points...5 wins...4 defeats...6 draws..!

If this was broken down to first half & second half of the season, then we are 4 points better off, asuming we lose next week at Donny..

So we have progressed by 1 or 4 whole point(s), wins pretty much staying the same it's just a few of our defeats have been traded up to draws, although that improvement is almost totally nulled by our one less win in the last 1/3 of the season.

I honestly fail to see how the end of our season is more positive or can be seen as progress..If we do though see this as progress, I am sure some will, then it is not a 3-5 year plan we need, it will be a 20 year plan..!

Its not just the number of defeats Hoppers, its also the nature of some of these defeats that is so depressing and annoying! Take Millwall, they have walloped us 7-0 this year, 4-0 Away at Burnley, 7-1 at Peterborough, doubled by Forest, beaten at home by Doncaster!

Actually, Millwall away was 4-1 Warky (good goal from Bullard to pull it very temporarily back to 2-1).

I made the calamitous error of going to that one. South Bermondsey is one serious crap hole – I had to leap on a bus to the Elephant and Castle pre-match just to find some civilisation to watch the lunchtime Arsenal-Chelsea game.

I sat with the Millwall fans and was forced to witness possibly the most useless, abject display I’ve ever seen from an away side. Those were the days Jewell was playing a narrow diamond with Bullard as the defensive midfielder.

Bowyer off injured after five minutes, Sonko off injured after twenty (2 down by then) to be replaced by the even more dismal Ingi.

I still get annoyed just thinking about that game.

And on the way back I was on the Dockland Railway with a bunch of Russians in Millwall garb singing “No one likes us, we don’t care”!

Agree, JWM for me yesterdays defeat & performance was up there with our defeat at Posh, at least that day we had a bit of an excuse 2nd half, after 45mins we were 3 goals adrift and down to 10 men, 2 mins after the break down to 9. At full time yesterday we were 3-0 goals adrift but 11 men on the pitch....

Thanks for that Hoppers, proof if ever it was needed that Paul Jewell is not on top of things - talking about our 'form' since January. Is there anyone at the club who ever does any analysis?!

How anyone can say that this club is heading in the right direction is clearly deluded! We are bumping along the bottom, the players have just done enough this year to keep us up! Is this what really want from our football club?

Perhaps a poll to measure our feelings on Paul Jewell and the current regime is in order!

You've got to say that the only reason we aren't in a dogfight is the fantastical run we had in February.

Getting rid of Jewell won't solve the problem though, as Spanish or SD said earlier the club is now rotten to the core.

The only reason we aren't in a dogfight is because we have amassed enough points over the course of the season, not because of this run or that run etc.

We were poor yesterday. 99% of the team didnt look interested and only 1 player on the pitch actually looked liked they were prepared to put it 100%. It was the player that none of us want here and nobody likes. I have never been impressed with Leadbitter but will applaud him on his professionalism yesterday. Anybody else care to admit that.
It also went a long way to prove what we have known for a while. Although we didnt look like winning at any stage, we fall apart when Cresswell got injured. The defensive reshuffle shows how few options we actually have. I think it was WCP that said the other day that he only really wanted a decent first 11 and I agreed with him at the time but I think the squad needs to be at least 14 strong playrs rather than 11.
I understand that Lawrence was going to get 20 minutes if it wasnt for Cresswells situation so that is another youngster potentially coming through.
The jewell argument has been done to death so cant be bothered to go into that AGAIN. The only thing I can say is that its amazing how the club is in such a position when it seems we have so many experts supporting us who can sort out our management/ boardroom right down to the youth team in one easy go. Personallities and philosophies dont seem to matter, neither does wages, training, mindset, discipline fitness or injury. There are many things which has not gone to plan/ gone wrong over the past 4 years and I think some are looking at this situation with a far too simple conception of how having a successul club can happen.

No Spanish there was just no point in getting ganged up on. Plus it seemed like you were all happy in your misery agreeing with each other. There's not point arguing with you all its like talking to a brick wall we'd just go round and round in circles!!

In regards to Leadbitter I'm afraid that 3 good months doesn't make up for over 2 years worth of dross! 2.6 Million is a hell of a lot to spunk on an average player! He should have been transfer listed last summer <ok>

ps I never ever want to see Delaney in a Town shirt again!

Something we can agree on JWM. Delaney is the worst defender I have ever seen in a town shirt!! Although I do remember you saying you thought he was a better defender than McAuley!!

Delaney should be shot and I dont like Leadbitter either but credit where it is due. He put in more effort than 10 other players combined yesterday

PTC, I would like your view on the stats I posted today.

I tried to give as even and balanced summary as possible, by breaking the season down into 1/3s & 1/2 but for me, any way i look at it it does not translate to anything more than treading water.

I noticed you were brousing the thread earlier today so you must have an opinion on it..? <ok>

Its going to be another long summer with endless speculation (fuelled by the PR spin machine) of all the imminent signings we are going to make! We realy need to hit the ground running in this close season and I just hope that Jewell has already identified the players he wants (assuming he is still here). We can't be ****ing about offering derisory peanuts when our rivals will be quick to snap up the decent players. How many seasons has it been since we actually secured all the players we needed? I realy don't want us to end up being like Coventry!

Jesus tractorbhoy I think I'd be professional for 15k a week <doh> Pay me 15k and ill practice penalties during the week as well so they're not at an easily saveable height... and while I'm at it I'll practice corners and free kicks too <doh>
