hang on, so next time some indian **** called 'Janet" calls me up asking if i've ever been bankrupt, all i have to do is ask who they're calling from and note the time of the call, fill in the details and that company will never call me again?

we get all sorts of scum calling us about loft insulation, market research etc etc. i'm guessing we'd block one but there would always be some ****ers who would get through the net?

I did the telephone preference thing years ago at a place where I was plagued with cold calls, didn't make much difference. Only companies that agree to not call people on the register will stop calling, many just ignore it. That's my experience anyway, maybe the law's been tightened up now?

TPS needs to be renewed annually, which a lot of people don't know. And more importantly, if you don't tick the box that says "don't contact me with info on products and services" when you're entering your details for an online comparison (insurance, loans, credit cards, holidays etc), you're legally 'opting-in' for marketing. Which means that companies can by-pass TPS anyway.
