Pretty much exactly what I said the other day Roo. He's up against Ozil - who's a class act for the CAM role, Xabi Alonso - who after Xavi & Iniesta is probably the best passer in the league and then the DM role is Khedira's who's up there with Busquets, Toure & co in terms of defensive midfielders and then if he tries to compete for a place on the wings, Ronaldo and Di Maria will laugh in his face. Modric is a fantastic player (albeit a massive c*nt too) but fact is he's not just moved to a big club, he's moved to arguably THE club in terms of competition for places with superstar players. Look at some of the players in the past who've failed to make a proper impact at Madrid - Sneijder, van der Vaart, Woodgate, Owen, Robben, Cambiasso = All of these are/ were top drawer, dare I say some are/ were world class players. If he thought going to Madrid would be as easy as getting into the team as it was here, he's in for a massive shock.
well said SOS, but don't forget Mcmanaman!!

Essien is on loan and I doubt his move will become permanent. Kaka is approaching 31 and is nowhere near the player he was when Madrid parted with £50m for his services. Alonso too is 31 next month! Modric has only just turned 27 years old. Time is on his side as I've previously said.
Modric is the most flexible midfielder at Real Madrid & i have no doubts that he will gradually get more and more game time. Anyway its not even 2 months since his move, during which Madrid have played 8 times in all competitions with Modric featuring 4 times. Hardly some outcast some of you are portraying him as.
Its quite sad that Spurs fans are so bitter about one of their greatest servants in the last decade, yet clowns like David Bentley who are comparable in terms of price tag get away scott free, milking the club for millions with absolutely no return.
Who cares whether Essien is on loan or not? he's there for a year and he's currently getting a game ahead of Modric! Same for Kaka, which is even more embarrassing as he was portrayed in the transfer window as some bloke who no one wanted! you make it seem like 31 is old. lol. tell that to Scholes and Lampard who are still top quality at 37 and 34, respectively. those players you mention have the ability and could still be there in 2 years time. Essien might even become permanent. the point still remains. Modric will struggle to play week in, week out.
so far he's made 5 appearances.
In 3 games he's been withdrawn 2/3 of the way through.
In 1 game he got a half, and the other he got 17 mins.
3 of those games were against Grenada, Vallecano and Deportivo. - funnily enough, that's the 3 games he got most game time. (weaker opposition i might add)
The 17 mins was against city and the half was against Seville.
In addition, he hasn't played this month, not featuring against Ajax or Barca.
you've only got to look at those stats to come to the conclusion that he's down the pecking order. - which was all my point was.
as for you last comment, SOS, SD, NSIS and Spurm have made that one very clear.
