Real good shot here with Seb and webber: please log in to view this image http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/red-bull-rb9-2013-3.jpg Wow look at the tunnel, it now extends further out to collect even more air! It's like they have completely redone the coanda effect around this car. And looking at the rear and how tight it is they must of designed a new gearbox, probably carbon like McLaren's
Gut feeling after the launches is that McLaren will have the fastest car, followed by Red Bull and Ferrari. Disappointed Red Bull opted against the vanity panel, the cars with it look brilliant, possibly the best looking cars in F1 history.
Reminds me of 2011: Red Bull looked just like previous year. McLaren went for dramatic changes. Should be interesting.
Pretty good close up in full: http://f1.f-e-n.net/images/f1/2013/20130203/redbull_rb9_hires/160597164_10.jpg
Shame they havn't got rid of the blue and yellow parts for the purple as well. As this is an evolution and the McLaren (who don't ever evolve) is majorly different I expect the Bull to be faster.
I don't know if that was a small mind game for Jenson and Perez with Seb forgetting their names in the hat of challengers for this year. I would of considered Jenson and Perez the biggest threats for this season since they had easily the best car at the end. If anything you try harder to remember the people you don't think will be your rivals that year as not to disrespect them.
Steve (I cant stop talking about Lewis) Slater... Just a shot I personally discovered which I'm sure Forza and others would be interested about: please log in to view this image Looks like the foundation of a PDRS to me since they were testing it at Abu Dhabi YD test last year. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image And here is that post with paint I did with the last variation they used a few months back as well: please log in to view this image
Good find by F1technical as well: please log in to view this image That's very likely the entrance hole for the PDRS.
Im surprised, PDRS doesn't really seem like Red-Bulls style to me. Focusing aerodynamics on straightline speed.
Depends on if it's a big issue for the car in terms of outright pace, Red Bull have always sacrificed straight-line speed for aero, perhaps now they've decided it's too big an issue to miss.
Pretty much this, Seb did pretty well at Abu Dhabi when they picked a race setup. All the media were asking why didn't they do that in the first place.
Few comments from IRBR: Seb looking really confident, Mark hides it better though. The reason why I say this is because Seb keeps looking at Mark and smiling, in a "you know what we are on about because you know how good the car is as a driver" kind of way.
I read somewhere that James Allison had said that for a system like the PDRS, effectively the entire car has to be built around it.
