Hey everyone- Happy New Year!! Just wondering - for pre season and beyond would any of you be interested in having individual team threads for discussion? It works well on some of the large F1 fan forums and breaks post race discussion down quite nicely. Not sure whether we have the volume for it to work as well here but thought it might be worth floating the idea! All thoughts welcome- and no worries if we don’t think it’s the right option
Happy new year to you and yours TC . I like the idea , but do wonder if we have the volume of posters ? I suppose It could even attract more members
Happy to give it a go? I think most teams are discussed in the context of something else (race thread, news, pre-season, etc) so I'm not entirely sure what I'd post in a dedicated team thread. Perhaps more threads on the go for different topics might work? We don't have any long-range predictions for next season yet, etc.
Could be interesting, again not sure if there are enough posters but maybe it could attract more? Happy New Year everyone. 51 days to testing
Yep, I agree. Maybe some ideas for topics... Track design Technical regs Racing regs Safety Engineering innovations/fails Behind the scenes (Not sure how that last one would work, but I'd like to learn about the F1 circus from the perspectives of various essential roles that never get much coverage e.g. mechanics, marshals, medics, media, logistics, catering, security, specialist fabrication etc)
What I will do guys is begin to set these team threads up as we edge closer to 2022 car launches and testing. This will help the discussion I think
i don't really get the need to have a ferrari thread on a uk forum, and then who gets to say thats acceptable on a ferrari thread? or who would really care enough to post on a haas thread? the team launches will have car images which i suppose is a good time as any to do each thread and see if any stay up on page 1 over time.
I don't see the need for team threads, most would post in the top teams only, as said by moreinjuredthanowen Haas would get ignored. What I would like to see is ranking sheet similar to that ran by Cosicave. There was probably some sameness in it but the concept was a good one. Unfortunately, people lost interest in it and was, I think, was one of the reasons we lost Cosicave. Maybe Cosicave was Crofty and we insulted him. Any Interest?
I think he left because few bothered with the post race scoring. it petered out to only 3 or 4 responses.
