Agreed Proud, you do have some very good players at your place which makes me wonder why you struggled so much to make the play-offs in the final third of the season. Be honest what do you make of your chances next season?? I personally think its gonna be a much tougher season in the Championship this year, are you gonna be good enough?? Is this new kid gonna improve you??
your wasting your time proud...he's just another thick c u n t off the hull board looking for attention...sad, they can't move on.
John do you still think getting rid of Pearson would have been the best option at the end of last season?
I have never thought he would get this club up, time will tell.. if he does it this season I will hold my hands up and admit I know nothing..due to the financial conditions they won't sack him till they really have to. He is a man in search of a plan B..
Our chances of better last year depends on if we can shift players like Gallagher, St. Ledger, Konchesky, Danns, Wellens etc. I sounds like Wellens is on the verge of leaving and Jermaine Beckford left the other day. I cant see us being able to shift Konchesky so he will have to stay. Neil Danns could earn a reprieve and could still have a future, same goes for Sean St. Ledger. Gallagher will probably need paying off to leave If we shift them it would allow Nigel to enter the transfer market and sign the players we need to get us competing at the top. We have only really lost Michael Keane from last season and he may yet return. So I think we will be better next season. Our young squad is a year older, stronger and wiser.
For me, pearson is far to rigid in his thinking..sometimes when things are not going well you need to be able to think outside the box at this level,.. nigel appears to lack the imagination to do that..
Nigel tried it against Leamington. I cant see us changing formation from what we was mainly playing last season but the more formations the players are comfortable with the better for us. Especially with away games you need to be more flexible with your options and now stick to the same
Moore, Morgan and St. Ledger of the current lot. Nigel would have to look at signing about 3 centre halfs to make this option really viable
st ledger is in search of another pay day elsewhere.. jury is out on moore, whitbread is a sick note.. if wes ever gets crocked , we are shafted..,
We would get destroyed with them at wing backs. Kingy doesnt have the pace or style of play for that positon and it would take away all of Knockaert strengths Wing back could be Dyer, Schlupp, De Laet, Bakayogo, Konchesky, Moore or Marshall
Strange how we fell on out feet with centre halfs last season, Chester was obviously first name on the team sheet but no one gave Bruce any chance when he signed but turned out to be very useful, McShane was abit of a joke but turned out to be very reliable all season, Faye is getting on now but some games was an absolute rock, a one man defence just through sheer fight and determination and Hobbs came back earlier than expected and basically picked up were he left off.
Wes was absolutley colossal for us, and the rare time they got past Wes, Kasper would then get us out of trouble. De Laet held his own and Michael Keane did well considering it was his first taste of first team football. Konch will even be very reliable all game or a complete liability. We lacked the strength in depth and it cost us. Having deadwood like Danns, Beckford, Wellens, Gallagher and St. Ledger on big money and not playing meant we could afford to have a big squad
