Don't agree at all that Captain Morgan and Yesil are better than Sturridge. Sturridge has fallen out of favour but was very good for two seasons before that, scoring at a high level. I actually think its a good deal and for once we're not getting ripped off. He can score goals and thats what we need. Yesil is yet to do anything and is not ready. Morgan not yet, but he looks a great prospect. Sturridge is ready. As for Ince. Honestly a £6 million loss is an absolute farce. Shocking, shocking business. How many of us could get away with that at work?!
I agree with all that apart from Huntelaar. I think there'll be a fair few CL clubs sniffing round him. Both signings have the potential to be the latest in a long line of **** signings. Ince is less of a gamble in a way. Sturridge I think there are tons better out there for the price and without the sulking too. What I will say though is that I'd be even more pissed off if Ince went elsewhere and turned out to be a really good player, then we'd moan about how short-sighted we were to let him go As for Sturridge, we'll just have to see. Maybe he'll feel he's got a point to prove. Maybe he'll breathe a bit of life into our strikeforce and proves us wrong. I can't see it personally but we'll have to see how he's done by this time next year. If he really is complete ****e maybe Rafa will pull the plug for us last minute
suppose it depends on what teams in the CL are after him, we have had players before that could have gone to a CL club that have chosen us. I still think we are just about in that position, but unless either Brendan wants them or our owners stump up wages, we will be for ever buying average players or players who have a point to prove if you like. The only thing i see is the wage bill getting reduced, which sadly means the quality normally goes with it.
The good news is that spuds are after both ince and Sturridge ( it appears they only go for our transfer targets) so hopefully they will hi jack them and we can look elsewhere.
Liverpool get Daniel Sturridge Swansea get David Villa Perhaps a couple of signings that typify the gulf in quality and class between the 2 teams
Give it another few go's: You appear to be a "hard work & practice WUM" rather than gifted with any natural Wumming talent kind. Your Wumming balls may indeed, one day drop.
Yes, I call Borini ****, doesn't mean I think he will stay ****, but it will take a Lucas amount of time for him to come good. I just don't think Sturridge will hit the ground running, we need to get someone to come in and do a Suarez, as we really need 4th at the end of the season, or that's another year wasted. That is not going to be Bent on loan, or anyone who is currently warming the bench at another prem side.
Not huntelaar either lol: @honigstein: "Huntelaar has decided to renew Schalke contract, details to be announced in the coming days" (via @DerWestenSport)
Whether these particular signings pay off remains to be seen, but the idea of having three pacy strikers that interchange is definately something that I would enjoy watching on a regular basis at Liverpool. Certainly much better than watching Downing not bothering to take on his full back and playing the ball in to a statuesque striker that waits for the ball to come to him
Rumours that Sterling has signed a 5 year deal also sturridge deal is stalling due to agents demands and we are looking at gamerio
Both offer what we a lacking in the squad atm GOALS! Ince is a bit of a bitter pill as we only let him go last year, but he has proved himself at Blackpool and could provide some well needed goals from midfield. Sturridge while not the best option avalable is a proven PL goal scorer and cheap. Both improve the squad, ok they're no Messi but lets face it we are in 12th.
So I'll be honest, I don't rate Ince or Sturridge. The first half of last season Sturridge was good, he stood out because he got goals which is natural, but this calander year he's hardly scored, I do, however, think he'll add something in attack, but that isn't really saying much, is it? £12m is a lot of money, for some one who's best attribute is pace and maybe movement, something we already have when Borini returns. I'm not saying he won't be a good player in the future, but we have enough players with "potential". The same goes with Ince, we got rid of him not too long ago, which surely tells us their was a problem, we don't need that sort of player, we need more Kuyt like players. Anyway, it remains to be seen whether he can make the step-up to the PL, let's be honest he hasn't really set the Championship alight, I've watched him a few times this season and he tends to drift in and out of games. Again, £6m, A lot of money.. I understand wanting to get the deals done early, but surely their are better options available at the same price? Of course if they both came I'd cheer them on and back them. Perhaps these wont be the only deals done, I still think we need a recognized CF who's a proven goalscorer.
No we didn't. He left us Agree with everything else apart from one part, can you have too much pace and/or movement?
That's worse in my opinion Well you can't, that's true. I just think we need to prioritize, it will be disappointing if we don't bring a proper CF in AGAIN, and then we watch the same problems for the next 6 months. Of course I do realize that it'll leave plenty of time to bring one in, I'm just a little skeptical after what happened in the Summer. Does BR even want that type of forward? I'm not too sure.
