If it is about marketing we can use our nickname , I suspect this has a lot to do with Hull City Council though

Yorkshire became Humberside and you would have to look anywhere and everywhere to find someone who thought it was a positive step. People still said they were from, and lived in, East Yorkshire. Eventually Humberside was changed and Yorkshire reemerged to have Hull within its fold.
The same will come to fruition with Hull City. It may have a name change to whatever the owner wants for the time it is in his ownership and he may change it back to Hull City AFC, who knows? He is obviously aware of the rancour in the ranks but he is seeing this as a challenge to his way of operating. We are a long way down the road and the way back to constructive conversation is a long way off. What both parties have in common however is a passion for the team and a desire for success. That can be a starting point only if the venom can be left out of the equation. We are not dealing with equal partnerships here so respect needs to be shown and the understanding of the culture of negotiations. No doubt there will be statements saying " It goes both ways" and of course it does. What we need to appreciate is that we shouldn't blind ourselves to alternative strategies because of pigheadedness on either side.

I think Mr Allam is being quite disrespectful in some of his comments towards the fans. It needs to stop. Negativity breeds negativity and the bad feelings between owner and fans will permeate through to the players, if they haven't already.

Seems the official website address (hullcityafc.net) now redirects to hullcitytigers.com.

I think its happening already after the events of this afternoon, and it reflects badly on the team if the crowds only excitement is at the action of what sounded to be heavy handed stewarding

Another thought - remember all the approval Allam got when he dug his heels in and refused to sell Stewart to Lesta because of NP jumping ship? (Yes i know it looks like a bad decision now but it didnt then!) well I think that for better or worse thats what you get with him. Maybe we can get the UN in as mediators...

It was a massive positive step. Lots of intelligent people thought so.

We always got the ****ty end of the stick in the old days cos we were a distant and insignificant satellite of Leeds.

Anyone who denies this is either suffering from early stages Alzheimer's or wasn't alive back then.

We did and still do have common economic interests with the other side of the estuary, far more so than woollen mills and other typical Yorkshire industries.

In short good idea, very badly marketed and undemocratically imposed upon the region without due process/consultation.

At least this region emerged out of the shadows and into the light with our own identity as a result of the 'Humberside' years.

I'm not sure whether we'd have a BBC centre here if we'd never been part of 'Humberside'- it identified us as a region meriting its own dedicated broadcasting hub.

    Hurrah for Humberside.

I take it Mr. Allam was in attendance today and witnessed the vocal support for "No To Hull Tigers". The way 95% of the East Stand stood up and sung either "City 'till I die" or "Everywhere we go, everyone will know, we're Hull City!" was brilliant to see IMO, although this was unfortunately caused because of ridiculous actions from both fans and stewards.

The only benefit from the scenes today, was to prove what will happen regularly should Allam persist with his decision. He needs to realise he should be acting WITH the fans, not against them.

Maybe it's all a clever ploy by the doctor to get some atmosphere into the library If so it's worked a treat.

No he is taking the steps he is taking out of a hatred of the local council who wouldn't give him the KC. Now yesterdays attack on freedom of speech and protest taken by his stewards, now that SHOULD annoy, IS an insult and certainly DOES enrage this fan. Disgraceful behaviour from a man who came to this country to get away from such transgressions

Bollocks he is not publically going to go against his employer. No one, unless they wanted to be in the dole queue the next day, would. What everyone is saying is that he should not be commenting at all either way.

Someone mentioned in conversation with me yesterday the situation when we were promoted and he wanted celebrations kept to the KC. Looking back alarm bells should have rung then. Thinking about this now it makes it even more clear that Hull Tigers has nothing at all to do with any business plan but everything to do with his hatred of the council.

Yeah it's a £60m+ gamble to stick one to the awesome, popular and public serving HCC.
