I'd say it will have provided you with an education at the very least.

He's is creating a maelstrom, some part deliberate, some part clumsy, but it all works for him. It will allow him to pull a magic solution out of the hat, a solution that will placate the masses (but not the few - of whom I count myself as one) and give him a position of false appeasement and a real enhancement in his power-base.

I hope the campaign has a fund raising plan to appoint an independent pollster to take an independent measure on supporter opinion; plan C I hope.

I personally think it extremely grandiose to use the honorary title on a day-to-day basis, rather than using it in matters that give it back its spirit and honour - but I also accept he has that right and constant reference to it is neither use nor ornament.

Sorry but this made me laugh. I don't think a few dozen keyboard warriors and the odd badly attended march really counts as a "maelstrom" does it?

It does in the wonderful land of Fez where Hull City's global muscle is comparable to Manchester Uniteds.

What a sad pair you've turned out to be <laugh>

[/A maelstrom (/ˈmeɪlstrɒm/ or /ˈmeɪlstrəm/) is a very powerful whirlpool; a large, swirling body of water. A free vortex, it has considerable downdraft. The power of tidal whirlpools tends to be exaggerated by laymen.

I have been consistent in my view that nothing changes but my disappointment at losing our historic and cherished (I do anyway) club name of Hull City AFC, I have given moral support to the campaign, but made it clear I think it futile. I chose Malestrom for a reason, as I have highlighted, just as I didn't resort to a personal attack - grow up guys. :emoticon-0120-doh:

Yes but it still isn't a maelstrom. It isn't even an e-mailstrom because most of the chatter is in this talking shop and doesn't effect reality at all.

Not really, you only need take one look at this board to achieve the same result.

What's the subject like on other boards? Does it get as feisty as it does in here? Does it keep bouncing forwards and backwards like here?

Is there even anyone to fight both sides? <laugh>

This is the only forum where a shrill little group appear to not mind our name being changed.

I've still to work out whether it's their well-organised little wind up.

Surely no one would be so spineless as to accept the name change?

What next?

This statement simply is not correct - I first went to city/the tigers in the 60's and throughout all this time they have always been referred to as both City and Tigers in equal measure.

Most of the debate on the name change is on this forum because this is where the few public supporters of Hull Tigers is. Most of the important chatter as you call it doesn't come anywhere near this board. The campaign has a strategy which we are sticking to. The two marches were a long time ago.

We have effected reality and will continue to do so.

I think some are repelled from fighting against the name change due to aggression showed by some who are. I think some really dont give a ****. Some really are grateful enough to Allam for saving the club to brush this under the carpet, and some just simply trust his judgement and are willing to let him give it a try.

From what I can see, all of those together appear to be in a minority. Thought it would appear that way as most who truly feel that way have either said their bit already or had nothing to say in the first place and can't be arsed to get involved.

The rest are just ****heads on the windup.

......They can do what they want, it's their club.
I don't mind what they call it, to me it will always be ga ga goo goo.
It will attract Far East investment.
Who cares? The old name was rubbish and our history was garbage (according to my Leeds 'supporting' mates.
