I don't hate Levy/ ENIC but my support of them has declined over the last 18 or so months.
For me it's always about if I see progression for the club. Off the pitch it's hard to fault them but footballing decisions have been so bad for far too long and it's contributed towards some dismal stuff over the last couple years, we've seen a squad decline, new signings perform horrendously and it's left us with a cluster of poor players that are being carried by Kane and one or two others to a lesser degree, it's hard to see us massively improving anytime soon under the current set up.
Constantly paying so much money for a product that isn't worth it also makes it worse for us fans. In anything, when you feel like you've overpaid for something you hold a resentment, could be food in a restaurant, could be a computer game, could be a gadget, anything. Paying some of the highest prices in Europe, that comes with an expectation and that expectation isn't seeing my team play dismal football and struggle to make European spots whilst also being embarrassed in Europe.
I look at Leicester's owners at the moment and I'm quite envious of them. They're doing a lot of what ENIC done in the early years by investing in youth and selling for large profits, using that profit to then reinvest into the squad and also in infrastructure, repeating that process until the stature of the club is very healthy and the quality of playing personnel is also impressive. They also do some good stuff with fans, most seasons you often hear about how fans get a free beer/ drink or a free donut for one or two games a season, small things like that go a long way to building a relationship with fans. I can't help but feel Leicester are only on the up under them and it'd be nice to get that feeling back at Spurs.
Can ENIC bring that feeling back? Yes. Will they? Unsure. Levy certainly needs to be removed from football decisions, I think it was PNP that said the other day something along the lines of that he's done great to build Spurs up but he now has far too much to do and by trying to do it all he's making mistakes left, right and centre. If reports are to be believed too, I think he massively overrates the playing squad and that's a bit of a concern to me as I worry if we'll be doing enough to shift a number of them on in the summer.
So overall, I'd be happy for ENIC to sell up if a good buyer could come in with strong intentions for the club. I'm equally happy for them to stay but I need to see some changes at the top and some restructuring because if we carry on as things are, it's not going to be very enjoyable.
