Bobby was awful until he had his operation. Before that, he could barely jump or run and looked very disinterested. Since coming back from the op, he's looked a couple of yards quicker and looked like the player that was capped by England.
Thanks for bumping RTID. As can be seen, I've been a long-term defender/fan of Bobby and I've felt very very smug since Saturday!! The best thing is that I've been joking with a friend for about two months (who hates Bobby!) that he would score the winner at Wembley to take us to the Premier League. You should have seen my face when he did it! Jumped straight over to said friend and have not let him forget it yet!
Glad you got to enjoy your moment of smugness Raving! A truly prophetic thread given what happened happened.
After a bright start when he first joined us, Zamora started to look awful: slow, disinterested, unable to control the ball and unlikely to win any headers. More recently, coming on to play half an hour or so, he has looked the complete opposite and has genuinely been a game changer. I put his prolonged poor spell down to injuries. I don't know whether he's capable of playing for 90 minutes any more but, if he's fit, willing and realistic with regard to wages, I'd keep him. However, in an interview on the pitch after the game, Nedum said Bobby was playing his last game for QPR.
Look at some of those strikers that Man City keep as bench warmers, coming on for cameos and scoring a few goals - ditto for Javier Hernández at Man Utd (37 goals in 101 appearances since 2010). If we can't get Remy back, I wonder if Chelsea might part with Demba Ba?
In his defence, he was seemed pretty mobile when he was red carded against Wigan for his karate kick?
