I think the club should stick with the two Sams if they are interested, it probably doesn't fit with the club these days, which as you said Ron about Bloomfield reading between the lines of his move to Luton

Despite only being announced that morning, his first game in charge was later that afternoon, with his new side losing 1–0 at home to Wigan Athletic. On 14 March 2021, Sunderland won the 2021 EFL Trophy Final, beating Tranmere Rovers 1–0 courtesy of a goal from Lynden Gooch. After a short run of poor results, ending with a 6–0 defeat away to Bolton Wanderers, Johnson was sacked by Sunderland on 30 January 2022

Do we need any more players, & the club obviously didn't have a plan in place to replace Bloomfield if anything happened

Had another thought about the Kone transfer, we don't need the money, which is almost certainly a reason why Joe Low is still with us, if the Couhigs & still been in charge I think both would have gone
