    I come in peace :p

Doesn't City's charitable donation of Mr Adebayor to the shadow dwellers contradict this to an extent?

He may not be allowed to play against City, but by helping the Spuds win other matches that they might otherwise lose, could still make them a threat. I mean the spuds could lose all 6 points to City and still finish above them. That is unless you are suggesting that City think (thought) the very idea of the Spuds being anywhere near them at the end of the season is (was) preposterous? :p

I think that man city have their eyes on the napoli trio lavezzi cavani and hamsik tbh. Especially if arsenal keep winning then rvp will stay at arsenal. Look at nasri, he isn't even starting matches atm.

Success for your own club should be your priority. Them winning silverware this season will make them only want to strengthen their squad. Winning trophies will make them a more attractive club to top players and if van Persie goes most of the season with his current form he will be a primary target for them, whether they finish trophyless or not. What will sway his decision is how Arsenal fare this season and if they win anything.
