Nope disagree with that. yer all fickle and only accept something that is in line with your existing opinions. If United were to get to 6 eurotitles 1968 would be a fantastic acomplishment, but I read united fans devaluing that 1968 achievement so as to further their own opinions that it was easy for Liverpool then too, and thats just fkn idiotic
I meant your lot and I think you know that. All this banter aside, you can make a strong and valid case for Paisley, you can make a strong and valid case for Fergie, you can make a strong and valid case for Busby, you can make a strong and valid case for Shankly. But you can't say with any certainty who's the 'best'. That's opinion. If some manager goes to Citeh and wins 10 straight titles and 2 European Cups he'll still have fewer titles than Fergie and fewer European Cups than Paisley. But I'd very tempted to call that person the best ever. Tempted
I've been a United supporter for 35 years. I started supporting my local team the year we got promoted from the second division. I am not fickle, you do not know me and you've got no basis to make such ludicrous generalisations. You and KPR are ****wits of the highest order who know absolutely jack **** about football, very little about your own club and nothing about mine. You let your fellow 'pool fans down with pretty much every post you make. You are a cretin. Take a leaf out of Raul's book and learn to converse instead of spouting incendiary bull **** all of the time. Now, again, **** off.
The fact is trophies won...years managed, nobody can touch Bob Paisleys 13 major honours in 9 remarkable seasons. Not even Baconface.
Exactly. Not forgetting it was some achievement for someone that never wanted to be a manager. He replaced a ''Managerial Giant''.And I asked this question before. How would Ferguson have done if he succeeded Busby. My view is that he would have been as successful as the ''Golfer'' aka Tommy ''Mary Brown'' Docherty. Bob Paisley succeeded a ''Messiah''. Ferguson succeeded a moron.
Sir Alex Ferguson is the most respected man in world football. The number of young managers he has helped, the number of players he has inspired, the teams he has built, the success he has earned, the causes he has helped. The man is respected by all but the very dregs of football ( Wenger, Rafa Benitez etc.. people who are respected by just a few ). Paisley was great but Shankley pissed all over him. Its easy to win with a team where all the hard work was done by the previous manager. Try building a dynasty like Shankly and Fergie did. Only 1 Liverpool manager deserves a knighthood and thats Shankley. Paisley, Dalglish etc dont at all.
Cannot agree mate. Paisley should looking at his cv. Kenny, and not only for his performances as a player and a manager should become Sir, but for his services to the families who lost loved ones. He is the head of those campaigns for justice.
For football terms shanks built everything Liverpool based themselves on for the next decade and more. Without shanks none of it would of happened. For none football reasons then its a completely different kettle of fish. How does what paisley has done compare with say... the young girl whos brother was stabbed to death and now runs all the knife crime campaigns etc? Its a different thing altogether.
Not quite sure what you are refering to there. I agree Shanks should of been Sir. But Paisley won everything for us multiple time in just 6 years. He put us firmly on the European map, as well as England. Yes not the first, but he won the European Cup 3 times in those six years. Fergie what 2 in twenty?
But Shanks built everything he needed to do that. The reasons Busby and Fergie were made Sirs is that they were the first amongst other factors. Busby rebuilt united after the Munich crash and made us the best team in Europe. He was the first manager of an english team to do this. Fergie won the treble ( first to win the proper treble ) and he was the first manager of an english team to win the CL. Being second doesnt count for much, if it did Rafa would of been up for a knighthood lol.
Anyone who thinks other wise is kidding themselves. The guy is respected all over the world. Respect doesnt always mean liked. Hes known as a winner and he is the best there is in his chosen field.
It's like the old expression about a room of monkeys with typerwritters, eventually they'll type the works of Shakespeare. Fergie has been at it so long, his numbers have to eventually be better. Does he have a 66% league winning success rate? or a 33% European winning success rate? And don't start giving me that bollox of The Champions League is harder to win, or even about the Prem being harder. We were winning the European Cup when it was a knock-out competition, only playing the league champions of other countries, and we were winning the league when you only got 2 points for a win. Also all clubs do charity work, players will always get sent to children's hospitals, it's probably contractual, as I'm sure some 22 year old Millionaire couldn't really give a rats about sick kids, and yes I've heard Fergie nice letter to people who have written nice kiss ass stuff to him, all very easy, but he seriously lacks any grace in footballing situations. It must mean something that the two most thoroughly unpleasant men in football are best mates with him and fat Sam. You can't tell me that the man who spent years getting his team to rant in the face of the ref is a nice man, the man who constantly berates officials when things don't go his way is a nice man, the man who will sulk and not do contractual post match interviews if he doesn't want to, is a nice man. And this is not me being scouse bias, I still have a great deal of time for Big Ron and his gold and affairs, and I have a lot of respect for Dave Sexton, I can respect men who do the job with dignity. So to go one step further I will never think of Fergie as a great man, but I would never even call him a great manager, all I will credit him with is being a successful manager. To go on a mini rant, the one thing that really gets my goat, is how he sped up the hard shoulder of the motorway, because he had the ****s, or so his expensive defence lawyer claims, and even if we take that as fact, it is still a pig ignorant and deadly selfish thing to do, what if he had come face to face with an ambulance rushing to get a crash victim to hospital who was internally bleeding to death? Not only did he get off with it, but everyone thinks it's a bit of a laugh, when in reality he could of killed someone, just because he thought he was special. Now that is scummy.
Did you seriously just waste all your time writing that. You shouldnt of bothered. Liverpool fans hate fergie because they are unwilling to admit he is the ****ing don. In a time when football is all about football and not kicking the **** out of each other on and off the field he has dominated. Its easy to dominate when half the league is pissed or looking for a scrap, just set up a highly defensive outfit and play safe. Job done.
