In the week or so that we've just had this might seem a strange question to ask but where would you like the club to be in 10 years time?

It may seem obvious and everybody shouts 'Champions League' but think for a minute. I know plenty of Chelsea and Arsenal supporters who have given up the teams they used to love because the clubs they knew have gone, only to be replaced by expensive, corporate loving, plastic supporter welcoming enterprises.

We have always poured scorn on Chelsea particularly for this and is this now what we ultimately want to achieve?

I guess the answer of course is "we have to grow to survive" but I hope that in the journey we are now on we don't lose our soul and the very reason why we all love our wonderful club.
 
We could be a spurs and challenge for europe and maybe the odd cup but I wouldnt like us to become what arsenal have turned into.
The emirates is passionless and very corporate.

I think Tony has got it spot on with the noises about the new stadium, a bad ground is like a noose around the neck of clubs.
 
All I see whenever I go out anywhere (ANYWHERE!!) are bloody Chelsea and Man U shirts. If I see anyone in a QPR top I go over and start up a conversation because I know that person will be a real fan. I would hate to think down the line there will be a production line of 'plastic supporters' in hooped shirts.

I think I would feel the club was no longer mine!!

I have pondered this question many times in the last forty odd years Stanley_10. The most simplistic answer is this.. If we are League 2, I'll be there. If we're ( a-hem ) fighting for the Champions League, I'll be there. I'll follow and love the Rangers no matter what. But I must say, I would love to see a season like the 75/76 one again in my lifetime. ( I was a young boy when that happened and always thought that would be the case.) Although as much as I would dislike us becoming a plastic side, I would just love us to win something. Winning the Championship was emotional, I have know idea how i'd feel if we actually won something.
 
I was at school during the 74/75 season and I never missed a game. I was so proud to support Rangers and other people would say 'what a great team to watch', that hasn't happened much in the intervening 35 years and it would be nice to hear it again rather than peoples looks of 'oh poor you' when you tell them which team you follow.

I do believe however that any success or expansion we do achieve will come at some cost to the soul of what makes this club great.

I was at school then too. The school behind the school end strangely enough. Football has moved on since then. Ipswich were also a great team to watch then, and what do other fans think of them now? . We have to move with the time's my friend. As hard as it maybe , that's reality.We are the lucky ones at the moment..Let's embrace it.

I for one would like our day in the sun. A few years back we almost lost our club and now look at us.
Football is not as it was....gone are the days when the majority of the players played for the club not the wage.
Premier stability and great cup runs would keep me happy....well for now anyhow lol.
 
If we were to become successful and ended up with a load of plastics we'd still have the last 16 years. IMHO having been through that is what makes us as supporters special.
We'd have a bond no plastic could understand, it'd be a shame to lose part of the soul of the club but it's a price we may have to pay and rather than see it happen to other teams as I have done so many times this time I want it to be us.
 
If the choice is
my love for QPR and mediocraty with an 18000 seater stadium and 18000 genuine fans
or
my love for QPR and success with a 45000 seater stadium full every week with at least 18000 genuine fans among the plastics
then my choice is

what we have been waiting for for years
success and recognition
 
It would be nice just to have some success, a Cup win or two and some regular challenges for the top six would give us the opportunity to really establish a dynasty...
 
Give me some success please! We have to grow and as we do I'll be able to tell the guy next to me how I was at our old ground Loftus Road, when we last reached the dizzy heights of 5th and top London club. Hell of a season and I want more!!!
 
Like 9's & T1 I was also at school in 75/76 (Wren) and i thought it would become a regular thing to be top flight and challenging for the title, how wrong we were. If we can grow into something approaching that it will be fantastic, i had resigned myself to the fact that i would never see the R's win the league title in my lifetime, now hopefully sometime in the next 30 years we may just do that assuming i live to 80!!!

You know what though, if we do get to a level where we are successful and attracting 45K fans every week......all of us will be labeled as glory hunting plastics by other fans, regardless of the amount of time we have watched QPR for and what we have been through.

You're right. We need an exclusive Club Badge for those of us who have been around for a while and I'm suggesting
it says "We Have Suffered" underneath the Club logo..............
