I got deafened by the PA system in the Northam against Newcastle. I was right by the away fans.

They should surely be able to pick up that it is a common joke on away fans forums that have experienced being at St Mary's. The Modern version of when the Dell was 'tidied up' apart from the away end which was falling apart and even the Lincoln fans were laughing at how terrible it was.

I remember last season and this comments from away fans criticising the roof. Not too bothered the hammers fans got soaked this year but still. When you want to look the best you have to clear up these little things that are bad PR.

You have obviously never been in the Kingsland South then, it isn't too bad when the Stadium is fairly empty, but at all other times the acoustics are useless, you simply cannot understand a word that is said. Pity they don't use captions on the big screen!

May not be the best solution either Saintdon - the big screens also are less than reliable at times !

Why do we need a better PA system?

So we can hear the gimp on the microphone "chatting" to some random 5 year old in the crowd? Or coming out with all the usual rehearsed hype? Or hear the array of ****e music they play in the lead up to kick off that drowns out any singing or the increased crowd buzz you used to hear at matches?

No PA would be my choice.

It is interesting that I can't make out a word that rather silly bald headed man says or the usual announcements but I can always hear the safety bloke once he starts on about the bloody car park being off limits after the match or people not invading the pitch.

But some well chosen music can help increase the crowd buzz. When they played Two Tribes by Frankie Goes to Hollywood just before the players came out of the tunnel at Doncaster, the atmosphere went up a notch or three! It was epic!

I think a good PA system might be useful for announcements such as... Ladies and Gentleman, may I have your attention..? Please make your way to the exists as there is a small, but escallating fire under the Kingsland stand

    Effort #2:

This does get heard I believe by quite a few people if it is announced 6 mins before the end of the game. I don't hear it but a lot of people seem to leave the Kingsland around that time each game :(

Could be. And all the rest of them for every other team member and coach, plus the Academy players and coaches. In fact, everyone down to the kit-man. Only Krueger and Katy would be left out.

    They can fax each other.

Incidentally, do people fax each other anymore..? Companies might, I suppose. I think it's just a football euphemism for making contact nowadays.

Hasn't it just knocked "relax" off the top of the charts in Portsmouth?
