I normally pop into Spar or Morrisons before the game (depending on which direction I am coming from) but was running late on Sat so I bought one of those hog roast rolls - cost me £4 and all it did was make me hungry for real food throughout the game.
Response from Andy of Compass Group (the company contracted to deliver the concourse catering - Possibly more) I am the new General Manager for Compass group at Leicester City as of 4 weeks ago. Jim has sent the email on to me as I wanted to respond personally. Rather than give you a woolly answer I would prefer to be honest; We have put 10 new concept kiosks in out of 19 kiosks around the ground as you can imagine the work that has gone into this is extensive. Based on research done by the club in improving the offer and diversifying the food offer. Saturday was the first day everywhere was in use and we encountered a number of problems with our equipment as we are demanding much more from the kiosks now than we were previously. The knock on effect of this was the staff having to run round trying to solve this problem which then impacted service. We had tested the equipment prior to the game but hopefully you can appreciate in testing you cannot replicate the demand of a match day. Lessons have been learnt from Saturday and we are today as it speaks ordering new and extra equipment to relieve the pressure on both the equipment and staff. I don't want to excuse the service you received as it categorically should be better but I wanted to give you my assurances that it will do. I ask that you give us time as I cannot explain the size of change we have embarked upon but hopefully by giving you my personal email address you can feed back to me directly as I strive to get service right for the fans? I look forward to hearing from you and again my apologies for the service you received on Saturday Andy
Still no reason to charge the earth for the food. You can go to any ground & you´ll be lucky to get a value for money item. IT`S JUST A TOTAL RIP OFF. I sat through the whole of the Sunderland game & eat nothing except my polos & I even drank my own spit. I hate it when you can´t justify the cost. I had a large fish & large chips with a can of lilt for about 6 quid, (not in the ground) I´d just not bother buying it simple as. The queues seem to be being worked on & I guess we need to give them time & abit of patience on that subject so....
Isn't it about time we had an experts view on what constitutes a "good mouthful of meat" ? we badly need charlies or strovolos's opinion on this issue..
Well, my opinion on meat is that I don't like fat on it so, if it doesn't have fat on it or if it isn't a burger, then I will eat it
Thats what we all thought...we all know hull fans like it lean... and are happy to "gobble " it down.... thanks...
