Impressions on Herrera?

Found an alarming stat he has has scored like 7 goals in 100 club games in Spain and didn't even get into the Spain squad for World Cup.

At £30m, he didn't look a £30m player yesterday.

He looks more of a Cleverly type of player, playing deep, picking up the ball from defence and passing sideways. The difference is that Hererra tends to pass forward more often. Thats the only difference.

 

He played alongside a half dead, constantly out of position and forever wasteful darren fletcher. Perspective?

I think this is a lad whos very good. A player who has dominated barcelonas midfield and madrids. Someone who over time will click brillaintly with mata, kagawa, rooney and van persie.

The difference yesterday was clear. Movement. He was always moving, looking for the ball. Cleverley doesnt do this. Hes static and doesnt possess the brain to anticipate.

Cleverly should move to Everton, if United get lucky and Everton are stupid - but it looks like it might happen.

Hererra didn't look like a £30mil player - but you can't judge him on one game, it'll take time to settle, and get used to his midfield partner - that could well be a new signing too.

He didn't play the full 90 minutes either so almost impossible to judge how good or how bad a signing he'll be from 70 odd minutes.

But I agree he didn't look impressive, but yesterday who did for Utd. Rooney did ok, other than that is was a bit of a shambles.

 

All our momentum went when herrera went off. His impact is clear already. Held the midfield together while carrying fletcher.

 

Impressive in the USA games, but nothing special against Swansea. But that applies to all yesterday

Why do Liverpool fans compare Allen to Xavi? Allen is a poor passer of the ball, i seen non league players who pass the ball better then him lol

 

Herrera had had 70 mins of premiership football, so he will adapt to the pace.

How many minutes has Allen played? Considerably more and is just an average player. 30 mill is the going rate for quality players, so paying 15 mill for Allen gives you nothing special. This has reflected that in 52 appearances for Liverpool, he has 1 goal.

If you pay average transfer fees, expect only average players.
