What appears ridiculous is that you do not appear to respect the “Mods” attempt to enhance the enjoyment for as many as possible.
The option they’re now offering, which should it diminish your enjoyment of the site, may I respectfully suggest is a shame that you feel that way.

 

I think there will only be a small number of mag free threads. I for one will never use it and would add that the majority will not use it, so there's nothing to really fear from this compromise.

As mods of the SAFC board, we have to consider the wishes of our own fans, even if we don't particularly agree ourselves.

 

It shouldn't be a problem, the lads who don't want to banter with the Mags probably never communicate with you lads anyway.

The rest of us will continue to do so.

I just find it ridiculous that this happens just because your club finds itself in turmoil at the moment. Had you been in our place and had we been in yours none of this would have happened and we would be the laughing stock with dozens of threads dedicated to us (I have noticed they have decreased of late).

Although I'm wholeheartedly against this , I am willing to respect it as it is your board after all.

 

I'm somewhat disappointed in your post Chappaz as I've always enjoyed what you've had to say although not necessarily agreeing with it because you always post with respect, with humour and with an understanding of the issue. I agree with your comment "It's a dire shame people can't essentially look after themselves and need intervention like a bunch of schoolchildren." Unfortunately it's the bunch of school children from both camps that people like me have complained about that has prompted the moderators to impose this trial. I'm not interested in numerous posts where mindless and abusive insults are traded from one side to another. Perhaps my problem with it all is that I'm a 70 year old who has watched and supported Sunderland since I was 5 and was brought up in a different era where abuse was not so prevelant. Yes I can curse with the best of them but I don't think a public forum is the place to do it. I also do not wish for my wife to look over my shoulder and read such appalling tripe.
I'm genuinely sorry that I had to answer your post in the way that I have for I do respect you and your beliefs and will continue to look forward to your input on this board.

Would need the restriction that the thread would have to concern SAFC and SAFC only. Would be unfair to label a thread "mag free" only to have the OP make direct comparisons between the clubs or start taking swipes at NUFC that us mags may take exception to but find ourselves unable to argue against or defend NUFC against only to keep having posts removed

 

One of our main problems at the moment is that we are loosing members from our board for a number of reasons, including not wanting to debate with you lads. We are trying to attract our lost members back to the board, so have to do something to achieve that, whilst keeping existing members happy.

I think in this instance, we the mods would absolutely bend the rules, it can't be both ways, no Mags, lets rip them
