The thing is,it's the truth.Little countries need bigger countries in order to survive economically. It doesn't make any sense for you to separate from the rest of the UK.We share similar cultures,lifestyles,views...etc We need to unite. Together as one
Nobody goes to church any more and nobody cares apart from a few mental huns. But the Irish are a confident community, we have had US Presidents since Kennedy pander to us, we have Glasgow City Council, we have most of the Labour movement within Scotland as well as a decent proportion of the SNP. I think we'll be ok in a Celtic and free Scotland.
Richest (proper) country in Europe per person is Norway. The Republic of Ireland with all it's horrendous problems still has a population which earns on average around 35% more money than the average UK citizen. Big countries have to pay for wars and social problems.
I think once Scotland is independent, the flying of the tricolour will quickly die out. The people will not tolerate it as they do now in a free and democratic English ruled democracy.

Do you realise, and I'm being genuine here towards something that not a lot of people realise - but the Tories and Labour do not organise in Northern Ireland. So as a citizen of the United Kingdom who has the ability to vote in the United Kingdom General Elections I have absolutely no say in electing a government which involves the Tories, Labour or even the Lib Dems. Literally the English people will elect a government, all by themselves, without any input from me, which will be in charge of me. I don't live in a democracy, I live in the United Kingdom where the English rule over my country in Westminster because my country has no chance whatsoever of being involved in the government at West Minster. The United Kingdom for the minority nations is completely broken, why is it a surprise that I don't wish for an English government which I have absolutely no political influence in, being in control of me?

Your vision of an idyllic celtic Scotland is, I'm afraid, pure fantasy as most Scots are either Unionist or Scottish Nationals, they aren't into the diddly dee craic ****. We English treat everywhere the same from Bermondsey to Belfast, from Greenwich to Glasgow - firm but fair - democracy, liberty, egalitarianism and the other thing.
