Very worried about tomorrows match, all the players and the manager are stressing how important the match is, the trouble is everytime a match is built up like this we flop more spectacularly than frosbury. The Scum games, Bruce comes out days before giving it how important it is blah blah and we don't perform. Match against brighton, the cups are so important they are our route into Europe and again failed.
To me and it is just my humble opinion the more the match is built up the more we fail, and i think we're in danger of that happening again.
 
You can taste the sense of concern in the air... the fans, the players and the manager.

Bruce has played his cards, revealed his excuses and now it is time for the results to be delivered. We arn't witnessing a short-term situation here, we have reached a critical and fundamental turning point.
 
Fulham are a tidy outfit. Nothing spectacular, not a Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man C, Villa, Everton and indeed a (confidant) Newcastle. They are useless away from home. This is a game to worry about for sure. Most of us think that this is going to be a bottom third season. QPR, Norwich and Swansea all showing that they aren't looking like being set adrift. Blackburn have impressed me and have been unlucky on a few occasions. The only team that look odds on to go would be Wigan. So this is a MUST win game for me. (never mind the next three) Lose and we are well and truly in the ****. Draw and the cracks will be wider than the San Andreas Fault.
 
Two fairly even teams in every department, boils down imo. as to who has the better game Sess or Dempsey, both the best and most creative player on either side.
 
It's hard for me to come out and say this, but I think you've been unlucky not to get anything from Arsenal and Manure away.

I think Arsenal were by far the better team, but with the chances you had, you should have at least gotten a draw.

How Cattermole didn't score that header I'll never know. Great save, but it should have gone in.

Against Manure, bendtner had a great chance but somehow didn't score either.

You need to take your chances lads.

You are not far wrong but those are the fine margins that dictate a clubs and a managers fate.

If Wigan, Spurs, Everton, QPR and ourselves had taken our chances against you when they were all on top, your season may well have not been the one you are having currently at all? You have struggled in a few games to be fair but have ridden out the storms and missed chances of the teams you have played and then taken your chances when they came.

Like I said, fine margins but they are what teams are judged on in the end.
 
The thing we need is confidence...if it's notthere then it is up to the manager to generate it, but Bruce seems to be struggling in this dimension. For me it is the likes of Brown and Bendtner who seem to be the people showing leadership.

Agreed. We've battered teams at times, but we've also have been battered ourselves, but the reason we're doing well is because we have one of the tightest defenses in the league.

We may not have done so well if other teams took their chances, but at the end of the day we could have done better if we had taken more of our own.

We could have and probably should have beaten Villa, and we could have beaten Spurs. But they could have also beaten us.

At the end of the day It's mainly due to moments of quality, and the best sides will produce those moments more often, even when they're doing poorly.

Spurs got battered off Fulham, yet they scored 3 goals, and claimed 3 pts. I don't think the Spurs fans will care.

I think you just really lack that quality striker you had with Bent and also most of last season with Gyan.

I think Bruce was silly to ever play Sess up front by himself. He's a winger/attacking mid.
 
Agreed, we have some decent players but our first team is a mish mash, we are less than the sum of our parts compared to NUFC who I would say are currently more...they do have some quality though like Cabaye and Tiote who seem to be inspiring the rest of the players.

Hey, I’m not trying to devalue your start HMT, far from it but the simple fact is that football is a simple game. You have to stop the opposition from putting the ball in your net whilst at the same time try to get the ball in their net. Sounds easy but a lot of people have gone stark staring mad in the process over the century.

Our defence is also quite good and we have scored goals (we have only conceded13 goals and scored 14 in 11 games) but the problem is we have lost games by the odd goal in tight games - mags, Chelsea, arsenal, Utd, and Norwich were lost by just a single goal, after we had excellent opportunities in the games to score.

If Bruce's team had hung on to draws in those games alone, we would be 8th today. I think this is the reason so many Bruce supporters cling to the hope he can turn it round. However, it also forgets that it was Bruce’s insistence every week to persist with a failed formation and Sess as a 2nd striker that has cost us so much this season. As soon as Sess is moved back to a position he is more comfortable in he scores 2 goals. We all knew that 3 months ago.

Bruce is a bumbler and has cost us games and points and if he remains manager we will not grow as a club. However, a new manager that can organise a decent squad and tactically be more aware (Martin O Neill is the obvious choice) would have us rising up the table in no time.

Finest of margins but for Bruce, it may as well be light years apart.
 
Fingers xd it resembles the Stoke game rather than the mags encounter, both were massive pressure but quite different responses from the lads!

True, the next few games are make or break for Bruce. I just hope we pull through and push up the table.

I think it's a bit harsh to say we've been battered by teams, we were even with Spurs, battered Villa for 70 minutes, pretty even with yous, and fair enough battered by Everton and Villa. But overall I would say that we have gotten the points that our performances deserve.
As for Sunderland/BIB's, I think the worrying thing is that for loads of teams that go down, you spend the whole season saying "they're only just getting beat" "it'll come good" and it never does. Sunderland could fall into that patter as I think Blackburn will this season. As a NUFC fan I would love ot see Bruce stay in the job...lol
 
Got no ****ing idea what's gonna happen in this game to be honest. I'm feeling a draw, perhaps? Both fairly even sides.
