true, but sometimes players need to play through bad form a little and not dropped at the first mistake!!
I think if a player has a bad game they should be given the chance to put it right but one its become 2-3 bad games then they will need dropping for the sake of the team and maybe a rest will do the player well. We now have the strongest midfield in the league depth wise. West Ham probaly have the strongest 3 with Parker, Nolan and Noble/Collison but they dont have much after that while we have another 2
5 or 6 good to excellent midfielders at this level would perhaps mean too much quality not being utilised on occassions, but this doesn't take in to account injuries suspensions and most importantly the fact that some may just not have a good season or be inconsistent. Our main issue last year after a good run to get up to 7th was that we simply ran out of steam and ideas, surely having more competition for places and versitility will help to combat this. You're always going to have a handful of midfielders not playing, the difference is that ours this year will be good enough to come in when needed. It seems less than prudent to assume that quality players will always equal quality performances I imagine we be selecting 3 or 4 from the following: Wellens King Danns Fernades Johnson Abe and possibly Oakley. Not a huge influx in my opinion. I agree that we are likely to have 2 (possibly 3 on the odd occassion) of 5 subs as midfielders, but I think this explains why players such as Abe, Oakley, Schlupp have all been given experience in a variety of positions in pre-season
trust us.....leicester fans would find a negative if they won 100million quid on the lottery... this mind set must change....its all good.........
Sven knows what he is doing, 46+ games a season means you will need a big squad. Some people will be leaving soon so just remain patient. I would rather have a big squad then the size of Portsmouth squad. That have about 10 players
The problem with that is that complacency can set in. Look at Bruma last season. He started off well (i.e. QPR) because he had a point to prove and he had to justify his selection but then dropped massively after he knew he was 'undropable' (after he came in for Vitor despite his MOTM) because he didn't need to give 100% but he'd still make the team.
Going to be some unhappy people on that bench & some even more unhappy not making it now it´s down to just 5... ...just 5 WTF.
Having a big quality squad means there will no game where we have a weakened team playing. You never know we may even have a good cup run.
Im confused. No. Surely sven isnt going to attack from the back up? Johnson will partner king. Um.. Gally wont play in strike yall are insane.. Nugent and maynard? Eh.. Maynard and yakubu, wow
