Agree with the job Redknapp did, but I never felt that we were a likely team to go down, I just didn't. Maybe it is a solid level of optimism I had!
It's a far easier job to take a team that is under performing with a Manager who had not a clue about the English game and turn it around. We were never in danger of relegation and Harrys 'feat' in turning the situation around was overplayed, especially by him. Any number of decent English managers could have done the job as it was very clear what Ramos was doing wrong. Since then Harry has built a great squad and motivated many fine performances, that is his strength AND we have not lost out YET! What he lacks is the vision to see his own limitations and this will be his downfall if he does take the England job. We should not complain too much however we are in a far better situation with him than we would have been without him.

Exactly what i've been saying. The players need a huge kick in the arse. If Utd players, like scholesy, who've been there and done that, and won just about everything you can win at club level, and can still be hungry for more; then this bunch of losers, most of whom have never won **** all, should hang their heads in shame! Sometimes, it really is down to who wants it the most. Apparently, our lot don't want it badly enough.
We could easily have offloaded Dos Santos and Gomes on loan and we wouldn't have missed them. We chose to offload players that we actually needed, instead and we didn't replace them.

But you can't just draft them in after they have been left out in the cold, and expect them to be amazing.
Exactly, Spursguru. If we'd have switched out the odd player during the season and given others game time, then our form wouldn't have suffered massively, our first XI wouldn't be burned out and our squad players would be sharper and happier. We can see this.
It looked also like a performance from players not wanting to be injured for this Sunday....distraction???
I won't bite at the "plastic" jibe, instead I'll let you have one of these, for trying - I've never raved about Harry. Yes, I have offered praise where praise is due, but that has mainly been down to how he managed to instill confidence back into our squad, when it needed it most. But, equally, I have been quick (as have others) to criticise his tactical ineptness, his inability to keep his trap shut, and his failure to keep his own ego in check when the media came up with its "cry Harry for England" rubbish. At what point any of us, as fans say "enough is enough" will always be a matter of subjectivity and choice. For me (and others) that point was reached after the dismal showing during yesterday's match. ? Not sure what the last part of your comment means. But last season, we finished pretty close to Arsenal. This season, Arsenal has lost several key players, including two of their best, in Fab and Naz, and yet we still can't finish them off. Some will blame a number or combination of factors for that; me, I put the blame squarely at the manager's feet. I'm sure there are several players who need to look at themselves. However, there is absolutely no doubt in my own mind that Harry is the primary cause for our spectacular drop in form.
You can all be knowledgeable in hindsite that's easy. Harry should have done this or that. It's not quite so easy when faced with the reality of the game to leave VDV or Bale or Modric out and put in players you have little confidence in. Football managers have to concern themselves with the next game, as soon as you you start trying to plan for two or three ahead it becomes more of a lottery than it already is. That's why 2 games in 3 days is popular with no one. Some of you seem to equate the real game of football with the computer games you think give an insight in to managing a football team. Formations and tactics are all clever stuff but the reality is the OTHER team can often **** the best laid plans just by being fresher, more motivated, more relaxed and sometimes even just better.
Yesterday was appalling - depressing. Too many of the team failed to turn up or looked out of sorts. Walker hasn't been perfect by any means lately but yesterday he was all over the shop. Probably over-played. Ledley has looked off the pace in a few games since Xmas (last minute v Citeh?) and yesterday his discomfort seemed to upset the rest of the defence. Great servant but time has come to stop playing.... Bale was looking stroppy/Prima Donna-ish throughout. Modric was invisible Ade lacked the enthusiasm that he has shown since arriving Saha's touch and positional play deserted him completely Defoe did get a goal but contributed nothing else. Benny did ok, but looked tired and was not given too many outlets. Livermore and Lennon both tried hard and showed the benefits of not having played too many games!! But the writing has been on the wall for several weeks now and the management has ploughed on regardless. Who can forget the spectacles against Stevenage for instance, or the total capitulation at the Emirates. As all our key 'rivals' have played as many if not more games than our core squad, then it points to something else that is having a negative influence. And I think that is the England job hangover - which Harry could have dealt with at source. He didn't and we are paying the price. Hopefully, the semi-final will somehow be the spark to get the players motivated through to the end of the season - but defeat could have a terminal impact on any remaining CL ambitions....
Some of you talk as though England and Redknapp as next manager is assumed as fact. I would like to raise two points that may contribute to him not being offered the job/not taking the job. 1 -He has not really proved himself as a top manager and as spurs splutter to the finishing line his public comments are showing a lack of confidence and class to match his lack of ideas on how the team should play. 2 -The FA have insisted that the salary will be a lot less than Capello ripped them off for - Harry may not be happy with this. 3 -(Sorry I have just thought of a third one) - he has let Bale believe his own inflated press - his displays over the last few games have shown a lack of control and are all about himself and glory and not the team. St Totteringhams day is nearer than you think
Hilarious! Tottenham are the new Newcastle United. To be fair Harry has done really well for you and changeing managers doesn't always help. All I'm saying is be careful what you wish for because being a Newcastle fan I should know. You are still favourites for 4th so don't panic.
Just for the record, that was Jayram who was spouting off ****e about our manager, players, board, tea lady etc. Most proper Gooners always knew that if we could arrest the mistakes that we were making in games, that we'd always be good for a top 4 challenge.
sorry Piskie mate, I'm not just talking about "not606". I've had to listen to it from mates who are arsenal fans, as well as many other acquaintances elsewhere. but yes, Jayram was definitely one of your culprits on here.
Surely this is all academic fellas. If the men in blazers call him, he will be off. I get the feeling their hands are hovering over the phone...
