All that pent up rage on a forum.

You should get a hobby, maybe start supporting a football team or something <ok>

Trouble is, you and others complain that the Hughes critics are too vociferous on here, but anyone who criticises Hughes now gets jumped on for being negative and somehow disloyal.
Seems to me that, given Hughes's record with us and our league position and points tally, being critical is by far the more logical position IMO!!!!

Fair points Col. I try to stay off the pure anti Hughes threads and if I do step in I will try and do so with reasoned arguments. Loyalty doesn't come into it at all, we are discussing the strengths and weaknesses of a club employee, all fair game. Posting in anger and frustration is the biggest factor in clashes, as the language gets intemperate.

Perhaps I should make my position clearer - Hughes is far from my ideal manager. We knew before he joined that he is a 'grind out results' man rather than a flair manager. His public persona is less than riveting. However, his track record in the prem is impressive (I think he's had as many, if not more, top ten finishes than Arry) and his an eye for relatively unknown talent - Samba, Kompany, Dembele, Diakite) is excellent. And I've seen us play better football (on occasion and with too little end result) this season than for many years. He has also (I think) played an important role in putting the club on a much more professional footing. In theory there is no reason to believe he should not be able to do more than just about keep us up.

Clearly the results are on the verge (for me, well over it for others but not yet most) of unacceptable. But I really struggle to see where change will get us. None of the names in the frame are in any way inspiring to me. Whoever came in would have to have an instant impact like O'Neill at Sunderland last season. If Mourinho was available and interested, I'd say go for it, but this stability thing is very important and I would not sacrifice it after 9 games. Ask again in December.

Only statistics and facts count in this game and criticism along with praise comes respectively. Apart from DT i believe nobody is happy being bottom and all the other negative stats which are too long to mention. Having suffered many of the winless away games, i will criticise Hughes as and when i please until he changes the statistics he has self made!!

How so? I abused both Managers in equal measure. I also believed COLIN should never have been sacked and neither should Sparky now.

    Consistency personified.

(North, we all know who was leading the ratting to the Mods. Very surprised and disappointed.)

Fundamentally disagree with you on this Bob. I have always been as interested in style, flair, honesty and frankly sentimentality as results (not that I enjoy losing, but I'd rather play like 70s Holland and lose than like George Graham's Arsenal and win). How else could I survive as a QPR fan?

TBH with you mate, I find myself agreeing with peoples' concerns over stability. I too don't want a revolving door policy where managers are concerned but I just feel that we will be relegated if Hughes stays. I hope I'm wrong and I know we have a good squad, I just worry that leaving it till December could be too late.
Some people are saying that they think we will be mid table by December, but I'm not sure they realise just what a turnaround would be needed for that to happen. I'd settle on being 15th by December, but as Hughes has never had us above 17th, I won't be holding my breath.

I just look at the team and how they have played (in flashes) and think 'this is the real deal, one win and we are rolling'. What I don't know is whether Hughes is edging us in the right direction and has been the victim of horrendous bad luck, or he's somehow holding the team back. The frustration for me is that I think we are so close to something very good indeed, just can't wait for it to happen.

I also go to every game in high spirits and expecting to see something good, regardless of history and logic. Every game a fresh start etc - and i feel much more justified in this for this season than I did last. My boy suffers enough when we lose and the up to 2 hours drive back home after the game would be intolerable if we both had the black dog.

Interesting experience last weekend though - I leave every home game pretty shattered through emotion and yelling. At the Emirates (admittedly a little worse for wear and quieter than usual through sitting with my Gooner mates) I found it almost impossible to engage with the game, no emotion at all. Just shows the passion and atmosphere that our dump of a ground generates. Roll on Sunday!

MH is trying to give the impression that he is in control and can take the pressure, results and performances suggest otherwise. Blind faith in SWP, a player who you might think was wound up with a key before kick-off and just pointed at the pitch underlines everything that is wrong with the team selection at present. I'm sure SWP will start today and we'll be chasing the game yet again...
