Dalglish will quit in the summer. He's never fancied a proper challenge. The owners will demand top 4 next season so he'll walk citing that his aim was to stabilise Liverpool and win a trophy so mission accomplished.

He walked once the Liverpool side he inherited had broken up and signings like David Speedie didn't cut it.

He walked once Jack Walker closed the piggy bank and told him to maintain success on a self sustaining budget.

He walked once the Newcastle job became that little bit too demanding.

He walked/was booted out of Celtic for being crap.

Why will this job be any different?

Kenny is hilarious. Why would you appoint someone whose footballing views and tactics are stuck in the 80's???

The fact that he went for young and british players makes it even funnier. EVeryone knows that english/british players are terrible and overpriced. Has he not seen henry or ronaldo??? No, the scottish twit is stuck in the dark ages of football where all the players were english. Afterall it worked for him at the scousers 25 years ago...hahahahahhaha

I still cant my head round £35m for carrott. But then I thought...Ok so they made 1 mistake...lets not be too harsh on them. But then they spend £20m in the summer on stuart downing (****) and jordan henderson (****). It just made no sense. They arent even good enough to get the top 4. Ignore their price. The first thing to ask is are these guys good. Answer = no they are horrible. Well so dont buy them let alone for 20m.

Amazing. They have wasted money in a more impressive fashion than city did at the start of their project.

dalglish as a man is summed up in one word ... "saurez" ....... that single name tells me all I need to know about his morals, his ethics and his ideals

i am aware of the contradictory side, ie his concern and welfare for the families of the hillsbourgh tradegy but it demonstrates how his surly arrogant attitude to anyone not in a liverpool postcode or shirt and how (and dont forget this) he hovered in the background and helped stab hodgson in the back can even make this caring side a dim distant memory and leave most decent football supporters with a bad taste in the mouth every time he holds an interview.

hodgson may have his faults but the guy is decent and decency used to count for something in sport.

a better mgr at liverpool would have won yesterday, we all know we took a tanning first half ... it was awful to watch, but his half time talk (if understood) sucked more engergy from them and the belief to score went out slowly but "surly" cheers for that Dalglish your 4 points ahead of w/b/a .... i wonder who might have the last laugh this season ... c'mon roy ....

I have little sympathy for most scousers managers. But I find Dalglish particularly repulsive. His management of the Suarez incident was beyond incompetent. He put his own self interest above the greater good. He made the wrong decision at every turn. When the world was crying for leadership from him, he chose selfishness and arrogance. No wonder we had black players being abused soon after the report came out.

His interviews with his sarcastic one word answers were rightly condemned during the Suarez affair. They still grate with his ungracious demeanour and he looks like a tramp, with his open shirt, no tie and creased jacket. Compared to the elegant Wenger yesterday he looked like he has just got up from his homeless tent under the bridge. Roy Hodgson was 100 times more dignified than him and I hope he will get the outcome he deserves.

Like Swarbs said earlier let's hope the gullible scousers keep him as long as possible. With 100 million + of funds a decent manager would have been mounting a credible challenge for the premiership.

They said that the Carling Cup showed that they were on their way to glories. What the CC showed was that their team was not good enough to beat an average championship side over 120 minutes. Their midfield and forward line were too flawed. Back to square one for the scousers and 100 millions wasted.

Ivor, I think the truth is that if LFC had been more clinical in front of gaol, they would be at on a par with Spurs. Conversely, without RVP we'd be further down the league.

LFC have played well, maybe not the most eciting team but they have played well but just been rubbish at scoring. So I think it's a bit unfair to call Dalglish a tactical idiot. His buys have proved rubbish, true, but I well remeber when he was busy in the transfer market and we (Arsenal fans) were complianing about how LFC were snapping up all the best buys and we were still fretting over who was leaving.

Let's not forget, LFC have twice got the better of ManU this season, and if you include last year I think its 3W-2L in LFC favourm, and there aren't many who can say that, and you don't get that return if you are a bad manager.

But they dont understand this. I am just amazed they wasted so much money on such junk players. I know wages are key now, but I expect they are still paying carrot more than the £25k a week he is worth. Their outlay ont he guy must be huge overall (what with the £35m fee).

If there was ever a year for the scouse mugs to get back into the champions league then it was this year. All they had to do was spend £50m in a not completely ******ed way in the summer and they would be 3rd by now. We had dramas that set us back in the summer and at the start of the year. spuds are terrible and chavski are in crisis.

If the scousers were ever going to make the top 4 it was this year. It was there for the taking but kenny ballsed it up big time.

The beuty of it is that they cant sack the mug because he is a "god" to the scouse fanatics. So they are stuck with him till he quits. And that could be a while. To invest £100m in keeny was hilarious. I literally never thoguht downing was even good enough for villa <doh> Never thought hendo would be a regular even at sunderland <doh> Never thought adam belonged at a top half team <doh> or that carrott would ever be more than medicore premiership centre forward (at best) <doh>

I just cant believe it. Kenny literally must have no idea about football.

Kenny Dalglish is taking Liverpool backwards, there is no doubt about that. Rafael Benitez always had them in the top 4, with (arguably) similar sides, and a far smaller budget. Hiring Woy was a mistake (on Roy's part) but again, he had no budget, and the crowd drove him out, just for their beloved Dalglish to return. I'm glad to see Woy doing well with WBA, he's a good man, and a good manager.

Agreed, he's made one good signing, and even then Suarez was probably a little overpriced. The fact he paid 35 million for a donkey like Carrott, just shows how out of touvh he is. We could sell Oxo to them for £800 million at this rate. he's young, english, but talented. Even Theo would probably fetch £30 million from them.

Woy is ten times the manager kenny is. At least he has relevent experience. Times move on and kenny has been out of management for so long. He has no idea. He was thinking of the quinn/phillips patnership when he signed suarez and carrott. The big and little man combo. Well someone didnt tell kenny that football has moved on. Position, speed and fluency of play is now key. Spending 35m on a big man is just comical. Those fees should be reserved for that elite playmaker who can make all the difference.

Poor scousers.....I am glad though. They are letting us out of jail with their incompetence.

£20m?!? Setting your sights a bit low there - I reckon they'd open the bidding at £25m if you just show them his English passport...

I thought 30 million, but maybe even 40 would be possible.

P.S. Thanks for whacking the spuds. Look forward to watching it on MOTD now.

Yes. Well if he had 2+ years left on his deal I think we could rinse them for £25m (unless kenny gets the boot).

However with 1 year left on his deal we could rinse them for £20m. One thing arsenal does well is rinse other teams for our players <ok>

If we bid £25million for Theo that muppet Kenny would easily go in at £30million to teach us a lesson. Like he did with Phil Jones.
