When I read the initial report I facepalmed at his second comment. He was doing so well too being diplomatic but he should KNOW by now that people aren't going to let him get away with using words like hypocrisy. I can imagine the result of this being the USA resetting his 5 years VISA ban.

It seems that some people treat twitter like it is an opportunity to tell your true thoughts in the misguided belief that they won't count against you. Like you say he said the diplomatic and sensible thing in an official statement and then renders it totally obsolete on twitter.

The guy is supposed to be intelligent, but he keeps proving that to be untrue. If he wants to carry on improving, as he said he does, then I'd first of all recommend that he stops using twitter.

personally just those from the USA, to be fair to Barton it is hypocrisy. You hear on a daily basis that loads of crimes (worse than Bartons) are committed everyday in the USA. Also he was allowed to go on holiday there last month but he can't play a football game there, the stereotypes are true the americans (those from the states) really are stupid!

I hope you realize that the vast majority of Americans aren't responsible for the country's VISA laws. The laws are made by bureaucratic government institutions so you should direct your anger towards them and not the whole of the US.

Also, the population of the US is 310 Million so by laws of numbers you are going to have crimes committed everyday. This, however, does not negate Barton's crime.
