.....I haven't paid too much attention to the Newco stuff since last week, but I've seen in a couple of places a mention that the Newco have inherited the RFC list of honours.

Is that the case, or just wishful thinking on their part?

It wouldnt inherit them but you can in effect buy assets of a liquidated company so they could theoritically buy the badge and the history. I havent heard that they have done so yet but I imagine that they will.

Yeah, but can't you just buy tangible assets - stadium, traing ground etc?

I'm maybe sounding dim - leave it!! - but buying a history is mental.

But hey, if I win the lottery, stand by for Celtic to have a record that will look remarkably similar to Real Madrid's. They will suddenly be the first Scottish club to have won La Liga.

Eat that, Newco!

It's not possible to buy a list of honours, the most they were able to do was successfully transfer the oldco's SFA membership - that's why they're having problems with the proposed transfer embargo just now, they are in effect taking on responsibility for the sins of oldco

If they hadn't they would have had to wait 3 years until they had sufficient audited accounts to be able to apply for SFL membership in the first place

No

As much as they bleat on about it if it were to happen HMRC would shut them down again

Don't care either way. (Some) Celtic fans will claim it's a different club so can't claim the honours, most Rangers fans will say it's a continuation of the same club so they can. Meh.

Im not so sure, I think it can be equated with buying , for example, a Victoria Cross from the deceased estate of an old soldier ; you can say you have a Victoria Cross......you just cant say you won it. <ok>

There are so many grey areas, so many folks giving opinions, it difficult to figure out what the **** has/will happen.

For me the only man that's worth listening to is John Brown <whistle>
