https://www.facebook.com/IanSimmonsIllustration Forgive the shameless self promotion but, after winding down the freelancing in order to concentrate on my lecturing day job, I have started picking up a lot more work that has made me realise how much I miss the cut and thrust of self employment! Am therefore promoting the creative side once more! Please take a look and would welcome any feedback!
We have something in common cartoon! I'm an Artist too............ It's the one thing I have always excelled at.....................
Love it, a very talented artist indeed that can definitely make a good living doing.......very impressive.
This is a painting I did in oils some years back, it is my own interpretation of Turner's 'fighting Temeraire', instead of the Thames embankment, I have replaced with the Mumbles Lighthouse as it looked around the same time period, the backdrop of the Mumble Lighthouse I got from a water colour which hung in Burgess shipping Office, down by the EP (No longer there). Anyway I expected the flack, and rightly so, but Painting is and always has been a life long love just like the Swans................. PS: I have removed part of my signature (Surname) and I can assure you all this is no cut and past, I do have my uses...............
Funny , watching only fools where Rodney has just won a painting competition for under 15 year olds lol Nice painting Phil by the way
Cheers Cartoon, used to do a fair bit of Cartoon work in my younger days, then moved on to Landscape, and Seascapes, though I have done Portrait and still life,. prefer oils as a media over anything else, I have studied Turner and Constable, predominately the latter, and now do a fair bit of Photography around Gower and South West Wales for Landscape work in oils..........
Big fan of Turner (not Constable so much) - also studied them both but Turner was much more of a character and his paintings far more emotive for me - I actually preferred Constable's drawings and studies to the finished paintings. Turner was also a total basket case (if you haven't seen it already, watch last years Mr. Turner - great film and fantastically shot if you're into cinematography). Have you got a website where we can see some more of your work, would love to see some more?
I have not got a website yet, something I have been thinking of, but not got around to, most of my work I have sold around the area through word of mouth, though I'm thinking of putting some of my work into 1st edition prints, I have also in the past exhibited at the Edinburgh art festival, but I will post a few more works I have done on here............
