If Wigan, having beaten Man City,go on to beat Arsenal and then Villa, and we are unable to secure a point at Spurs, could it be argued that Wigan deserve to avoid the drop?
For me the perfect scenario would be Wigan win both and we get something at Spurs thus relegating Villa! Although I'd rather it was all sorted on Tuesday as I hate last day nerves!!
Perfect scenario (as a Newcastle fan) is Wigan beat Arsenal 4-0. It'll make the last day more entertaining, and its the law that we enjoy you suffering. You then get a massive beating of Spurs 6-0. We hump Arsenal and results go our way meaning we end up in a wholly unlikely 10th place.
However I'd then like Villa to to draw with Wigan (4-4 last minute equaliser by Bent). This means you have been saved by your figure of hate/1 goal difference and we retain the derbies.
The only downside would be Spurs playing in the CL instead of Arsenal but I'm pretty unmoved to that situ at the top anyway.
Now how nippy arse would that be? (although my quickfire dubious maths is probably going to be pointed out as incorrect)
