Yes, against ten men after having gone 2-0 down in the opening minutes - did you read the rest of what I wrote or did you just stop at the word "attractive"?? And please don't call me negative as I'm not (I think I've tipped us to lose once all season in the CPL), I'm just a realist and calling it as I see it, like I always have done and always will do And don't get me started on "annoying"!
Carla, can I ask how long you are prepared to watch the current football being played with a smile on your face?
Thai - I'm watchiing it, but certainly not with a 'smile on my face' and I'm hoping we will see a return to more attacking football before the end of the season. I've stopped going to watch away games and have sold my season ticket for the Reading game, so only have to sit through another 3 matches this season. I seem to remember that goals were in 'very short supply' in our 'pre-season friendlies' and that all of our wins have been by a single goal. On the plus side - our performances in the early games against QPR, Spurs and West Ham were excelent and only excellent goalkeeping on each occasion denied us a win, so let's hope that we start next season playing the same style of football.
I was so fed up with it that I didn't even get excited when the penalty was awarded and actually smiled when it was saved! as to have won that would have been a massive injustice.
With my too, much too soon comment I wasn't commenting about the style of football. I'm not referring to you, Thai, in this but some of the posters on here are so stubborn!
I know you weren't having a pop at me Carla Just wondering if you are happy with performances, which I think you have said before that you are and if you are I was wondering how much longer you could be happy with what you are seeing? I am not ashamed to admit I am very unhappy with performances, on the whole, this year (not this season) and am finding near impossible to get even a little excited before or during games, a bit like the dark Championship days for a few season leading toward our relegation.
Look up the definition of stubborn then come back to me. The problem with you carrabuh is it has to be one way - your way - and everyone elses objection, no matter how slight is always wrong, no matter the level of proof.
Just stating 1 point is closer to safety which appears to be the total sum of your argument is hardly making a contribution to a discussion forum. Its really quite dull, why don't you try providing a true reflection of the game and discuss its implications like what everyone else is trying to do. Your fast becoming someone who I can't be bothered to read anymore, not because you disagree, but because your posts are so uninteresting. Your like a female version of Beef.
If you actually read them then you would know it goes further than that. It appears that you just can't even slightly agree with any form of counter-argument. They have to follow your line of argument. Debate is about making reasonable comments that will be agreed with AND disagreed with. There will be the odd concession which is fine. If you read my points my opinions have changed based on people's arguments and I have agreed with the odd person who has countered my arguments.
So whats your point, I said your articles and responses are dull, not that you have to change your opinion.
I never thought I'd see the premier league corrupt the minds of some of our fans. Seems the weak ones have already fallen to "chelseaitis"...
I am putting your posts down because I don't they are very good. Others obviously do like what you write, and that's up to them.
Can we stop with the petty sniping at each other please? If it was constructive criticism it'd be ok, but this isn't. Sure, everyone is frustrated that we played poorly yesterday, but this is getting silly now.
I pretty much agree with most of that carrabuh It was another pathetic, turgid, home display yesterday too regardless of the difficult conditions. After all, it was the same for both teams and Southampton adapted to them better and were clearly the better side. Was I the only one who wasn't at the least bit surprised when Holt missed that penalty ? Notwithstanding that, he looked slow and overweight and it was HE who should have made way for Becchio IMO. Kamara may well have been 'tired' who knows, but he was still more of a threat than Holt if you ask me. Statistics don't lie, we were the home side playing a struggling Southampton who had just lost their previous home game to bottom of the table QPR. Norwich Shots on target 2 off target 7 - Corners just the paltry 1 ! Southampton Shots on target 3 off target 15 - Corners 7 Many posters on this thread have banged on about survival at all costs this season and yes that may be true and is precisely why we should be going all out to WIN home games like yesterday. But no, it's the same negative 'make sure we don't lose at all costs' attitude from the manager. The thing is, we're not safe yet and with two away games coming up, (we've won away only once so far don't forget), there's a bloody good chance of things going tits up and us being dragged into the relegation dog fight. I'm not negative, I'm just a realist perhaps some of you should take your canary coloured specs off ? To go back to my original post, no I really wouldn't care if Hughton wasn't here next year because I think we'll be in for an even worse season under him next term. Thanks for listening
