I was in Spain earlier in the year, and met a Barbadian fella(half Dutch too, and spoke 7 languages), he asked where I was from and I said Hull, and instantly his response was 'ahhh Hull City'. We are known all over the world by our current name, so why change it.
the only problem with the badges is, chazz won't wear one, no way are his lonsdales getting a pinhole through great thread though and brilliant campaign, i'll probably buy a scarf, it's starting to get bitter and chilly
I'll buy any sort of "No To Hull Tigers" or "Hull City AFC" paraphernalia in order to fund the campaign. As soon as someone knows where to buy them, and when etc, count me in.
I was recently in my local hospital charity shop with my husband who struck up a conversation with a local. When asked which part of England he was from he said Hull. The local then said " You are the only place in England that has 2 rugby league teams". "And a soccer team called Hull City playing in the Premier League" replied my husband. "Really", came the response, " I didn't know that".
my stall has been set out, but I can see what the name change means to people - I can see that AA will shoot himself in the foot if he goes ahead, he will undo his philanthropic gestures. I wonder just how popular Lesster/Castlford Tigers are in the far east.
While I have no doubt AA has given a lot back to this community (Castle Hill Hospital...etc), buying our club was not a philanthropic gesture like people make out, he wanted the ground and he wanted to make money off surrounding land. If he was purely making a philanthropic gesture he would have paid off the debts rather than loan the club the money and re-coup it with interest. I don't want that to sound like I'm not grateful, the man saved our club from certain disaster, but philanthropy was not why he bought the club.
I'm just gazing at the table and glowing in Friday night drunkeness at: 5. Manchester City 6. Tottenham Hotspur 7. Everton 8. Hull City 9. Manchester United 10. Aston Villa Just seeing that looks brilliant...but then thinking what if it read Hull Tigers. It actually makes me feel a bit sick!
nice. mine is reminiscent of Ian Brown in 1989, so it's a typical indie student haircut. Google Taribo West if you want to see a really bad 'do.
