he retired before getting that real big fight. He could have fought andy lee but his heart wasn't in it. I have never seen a tougher fighter. He was very limited but he always turned up for a fight. Any taxi I get in in this town and the subject of boxing comes up its always the same here. "what do you think of duddy?" "......erm...." I remember that fight. it was against Walid Schimet. It was proper rocky stuff though. He was boxing terribly and got a bad cut. The corner were trying to knock some sense into him but he kept saying "I am here to entertain the fans" He wouldn't listen, so he just fought rather than boxed. he should have beat that guy no bother and he ended up losing his next fight against a guy he should have beaten every day of every week. At the same time, pavlik was falling apart after having looked indestructable up to that point. he could have made serious money if he'd have put on a better showing against schimet.
