He's actually very good when it comes to the commercial side - wasn't he the one who got us the Standard Chartered deal? the problem with him is his ego and he wants to take control of the football side - signing Roy Hodgson and Joe Cole sums him up really.
Was he really? When did he run ours cos Ayre ran it Still Chelsea can look forward to their hero being sacked, Roy hodgson appointed and joe cole being brought in to replace hazard
Pretty sure, as MITO says, Ian Ayre was our commercial director at that time. Purslow was too busy trying get rid of Benitez behind closed doors and bringing Roy Hodgson & Joe Cole in to be involved in any commercial stuff.
Can't remember where I read it but he was CEO at the time plus his contacts in the Banking industry is what helped seal the deal. Not entirely sure but I acknowledge the club were operating better from a commercial perspective under his stewardship. Still a w*nker though.
RIP Chelsea... just when they thought they were doing well. We'll take Costa and £100mill this January in exchange for Aspas. (Purslow will think it's a good idea).
