What really matters now Tickles, is binning this bollocks once and for all and going back to recognising that we're Proud To Be Hull City AFC.
Don't think so somehow something to do with a litter old fair that happens once a year !! what couldn't be moved HCC are a set of dinosaurs you just have to drive around to see the sorry state they have let the City become.
Due to not living in Hull for many years I couldn't back him in his fight against the council even if I'd wanted to. Since you can't, or won't answer my question, I'll type the words that you know to be correct. The sorry situation we're in at the moment has been caused by one man, and one man only - that man is Assem Allam, in his original meeting with HCC he was *given information* that didn't fit in with his plans for the clubs future, information that riled him so much he, and he alone, set the club and fans along the toxic path that has led us to where we are now. *I have no idea (but would like to) what was said at the meeting.
It might have been that Assem Allam had a buyer lined up to buy Hull City but only with the freehold. It had nothing to do with the fair. They offered him a joint venture to develop the sports village. He said no.
It had nothing to do with him 'having a buyer lined up' AA thought the Council would welcome a £100m investment in HU3, as they welcomed and bent over backwards for Siemens, but he wasn't even given the decency of a full council meeting. They sent the monkey instead and that's when the poison set in.
I wouldn't because I'm not in business. Plenty of companies have gone into partnership with Hull City Council and have not looked back. Do you think Sewell's regret their involvement with Hull City Council? Or Keepmoat? What about Siemens? Perhaps you'd rather go into partnership with Manor Properties?
I shall hit the bars of Santa Ponsa with a smile on my face tonight. I hope it's over, but I fear it is not. Time for everyone to show their pride at being Hull City AFC - The Tigers, and help to mend the cracks. If not, I look forward to the future local derby as 109 year old HCAFC takes on the newly formed Hull Tigers, then everyone can be happy. Bravo.
The Council did welcome the investment and said they'd join in. That's what a joint venture is. Assem Allem said no when he didn't get the freehold for nothing. Why should there be a full council meeting if he didn't put in an offer for the freehold?
I'm disappointed at the lack of Happy in this thread, but at least his partner in ******ation Sunbeam showed up.
That ain't how to attract investment no wounder he's pixx off !! To be honest the best solution would be to ditch the KC and move across to a suitable location in the East Riding if would solve a lot of problems! !
This is not really the day for this, but Allam was never offered any firm deal, he was just told the council would discuss it if he wanted to. There was certainly never a firm offer of funding and the whole Walton Street site, he'd already made it clear he wasn't interested before he even met with Brady anyway.
Looking at this site first time in months for name change info and happened upon this thread. Why the **** would anyone now think that having the Allam family involved with local sports development is a good idea? Look at their attitude to the Airco Arena tenants for proof of their commitment to it. It was an Allam scheme to make himself money.
I do hope that this is the end of the matter now. Somehow I do not think that this will be seen by the owners as a defeat, more of just another setback. Who will be blamed for this? As for the situation regarding the KC and a sports village. I think that this still has some way to go before it is written off completely. Whilst the relationship between Assem Allam and HCC is difficult, a sale to a new owner may hang on the ability to develop the site.
I got my information from leading members of the Labour Party in Hull. All of them were consistent in what they told me. Some of them I trust others I wouldn't. Hull City Council made the offer of a joint venture. Assem Allam rejected it. He kept telling them he wasn't interested. Its all in black and white as you know.
