Le Tiss - we could do with another goal scorer - he might have a few arguements with Ricky Lambert over the free-kick taking!
MLT obviously but I want to put a shout out for David Armstrong who just made the side tick or alternatively Jimmy Case.
Alan Ball. Ran the show ,got the best out of Steve Williams and Steve Moran ,,best one touch player ever sadly missed
Think I would pick Pahars I still miss the little Latvian. Also wouldn't mind seeing someone like Matt Oakley back in a saints shirt should have never let that one go.
Of all the players to lose after we were relegated in 2005 (be it immediately, or over the course of the following 12 months), Oakley and Phillips were the only two I was really gutted about. I didn't batter an eyelid at losing the likes of Le Saux, Camara and Telfer, and likewise I accepted that the likes of Crouch and Niemi were just too good to not be playing in the Premiership. If only those kids that really came through under Burley - Bale, Surman, Jones, Baird etc - had Oakley and Phillips to play alongside in 2007, we might have just made that final last step.
Thought le Tiss straight away, but then read other suggestions. Claus, Killer, Bale, Marion...I want them all. Interesting thought...would Nige get on with Matt's laid back style and could he get him fit! Do they even do one of those pro-fit vests in Mattie's size.
Alan Ball without a shadow of a doubt a red haired arse kicking world cup winner he has no equal so proud that he played for us
oooh Alan Ball, oooh Claus lundekvam, oooh Mick Channon, oooh Jimmy Case, too many choices, ok Claus was not a match winner, but he certainly stopped us losing and every central partner they gave shined. but it has to be Matty, evertytime he got the ball we never knew what might happen. Pure class
