Exactly, you'd move because you expect there to be swearing, same as i would if i was offended by bad language. I suppose there are 2 kinds of swearing really, one kind where it's done in the heat of the moment and then there is the pointless swearing which some do when they have a normal conversation,i'm definitely not like that but i do let out the occasional sh*t or b*ll*cks when things are not going to well.
Did you see what happened when Rooney slipped taking a penalty! The ball went high and wide and he landed on his derry aire!
From the photos and video I've seen, he's looks like he's hit it true and exactly where he wanted it to go. Though in-off-the-post is always a bum twitcher. Almost Le Tissier like though. Actually, I'll drop the almost. There's something about Rickie's penalty taking that gives you the same secure feeling that Matty's always did.
As well as great results we're being great in discipline - the last two seasons we were the only side in the league to receive just one red card, this season we're currently the lowest booked team in the league with just five yellows (shame about the red!). Interesting fact, that is, if you compare it to the most booked side in the league - our friends from down the road with 19 - almost four times as many as us! They have to win at something I guess
I think the paucity of bookings for Saints is directly related to the quality of football we play. The team concentrate on playing football and not on being spoilers. If you play in a poorer team, you get desperate and try to stop the opposition. I suspect we may get bookings if promotion is within our grasp near the end of the season and we have to stop the opposition.
yep, remember at yeovil last year, morg's desperate lunge got him sent off. wasnt worth it though, he missed the rest of the season.
I also feel if we carry on playing as we do now, we will be awarded more penalties as the opposition try to stop Connolly and Ricky.
While I appreciate your sentiments, I think you are preaching to the converted on this site, most who can, do go to St Marys, what we need is to convert those that are not yet aware of what is happening, but how do we go about it?
Had a quick look at our attendance this year. The attendance varies mainly with the number of away fans, hence we had our biggest gate against Leeds who brought over 3000 whereas Birmingham brought only 800+ on a Sunday. Therefore, our fans number around 22,000. About 15,000 are season ticket holders and the rest are made up of people like me who can come when they can. It would be interesting to know how many individuals make up this latter group, perhaps as many as 25,000 on the registered list. It is frustrating that the gate isn't higher when we are as successful as at present, but many may be like me, I couldn't come more often even if we were in the PL because of work.
