I also thought we'd struggle more against the lesser teams this season which to me makes our start even better. If teams sit deep like Burnley did I think we'll find it hard. We brought quality in, in the summer but I don't think they are of the level that can tear apart teams that sit 11 men behind the ball. I think RLB thought Man Utd were there for the taking due to results leading up to the game. I think the team he put out was to really have a go at them. This left us a bit open and they punished us. Once he changed the system we matched them and could have gotten back in the game. I think all the so called top teams are vulnerable on the counter, we have shown we can defend very well already this season. With Isidor and Mayenda we have the perfect 2 to hit them with pace. I think we'll stay up comfortably this season, not suggesting a top 10 finish, I just think we'll always be just that bit above the bottom 3 to really worry
As you're suggesting, it's a massive learning curve with loads of bends on the way. RLB is still learning about players who are effectively new to him. We can't expect him, and them, to just fit together like a well oiled machine ... ... other clubs are way ahead of us in that respect.
They've beaten the 2 other promoted teams and drawn with Forest, I certainly wouldn't call that immense. Not bad maybe, but by your reckoning ours must be world class
Not just talking about this season, obviously Their home record has been very good for over a year now, our has been too.
The OP was talking about this season ... ... Burnley lost their keeper and best defender since the Championship days.
