But that isn't the argument at all. If the league was decided on chances we'd be one of the best teams, the fact is we haven't finished our chances this season well enough at all. Even the other night we scored 3 but we should really have had 5 or 6 considering the positions Barnsley let us get into. I think Fryatt does create chances for himself really well, just like the 3rd goal the other night, most of his goals for us have included him beating or turning his man before getting a shot off. I'd agree with that but then I guess Barmby wouldn't want to play a front two anyway, and there'd be other bigger teams than us wanting him I'd imagine.
Well there you go then. Nothing to worry about is there. Jobs a good-un then.!!! All this worry for nothing nonsense. So what IF his wife wants to go back down south and live closer to hear parents espeically with such a young family to look after ? The girl cannot hope to look after such a small brood on her own. Matty will no doubt get or rent a flat up here for when he has to be here. Whilst its not ideal ALL footballers play better when there family life is sorted out. (remember john walters playing for us when he had massive family problems as an example?) Maybe MF poor form has been down to the wifes ear bashing and moaning about being stuck up here on her own ? who knows or cares. If MF is happy then the club benefits. ffs, the midlands is only 2 hours away at best anyway.
I would suggest that taking into account the comments made by MF in that interview, the admission that his wife wants to move and the suggestion that he has struggled to come to terms with the lone striker role (read - not enjoying it), is about as much indication that anyone would need that he's looking for pastures new - or old perhaps! NB has already made it abundantly clear that the lone striker is part of the system he wants to play and he won't be changing it; therefore if Fryatt can't or doesn't want to play that role and McClean isn't up to it, I would suggest they'll both be gone in the summer and NB will be looking for two replacements that can.
All this talk of his wife wanting to move whilst it will no doubt be true just got me thinking that there must be thousands of other mums in her situation up and down the country. Those whose husbands leave the house at 7am and do not return until after 6pm. I would have thought it was not that bad for a footballer's wife, he starts training around 9:30 and will be home by 3pm at the latest. OK there are away matches and evening matches to cope with but overall not that bad a situation and what about between seasons. I think if I was married to a footballer with 3 young children I would just stick it out as long as my husband was happy with the club, which draws me to the conclusion that they have made the decision to move clubs as well.
