If we finish the season poorly, does Howe go?

I'd be concerned about entrusting Howe with the summer war chest. One thing that struck me about his time at B'mouth was how many big-money signings he got wrong.
    Lerma - £25m
    Solanke - £21m
    Ibe - £17m

More recently, Trippier and Guimaraes were astute signings, but Chris Wood for £26m? What was that about?

Would you guys trust him to spend the new money?

You could argue dropping Lascelles, or buying Burn, or Trippier then Targett were the reason, given Wood has scored one and assisted none in his time with us.

Yes he was ok, with 1 in 3. But he’s 1 in, what, 10 for us?

As I said, it's his presence up front that has been a benefit, not in terms of goals or assists, but making space for players and giving the team a clear attacking edge. He ain't world class, but he's certainly better than having Joelinton up there.

Plus the obvious benefit of taking away Burnley's top scorer and weakening them. Since he left in Jan they've got 10 points from 11 games, which is sending them down. Wout Weghorst has got 1 goal in 10 games, so he's hardly been a dazzling revalation.

Come on, man! 11 games ago, Burnley were on 11 points from 18 games, so they may be bad, but they're better without Wood. He was playing in the team that have rooted themselves in the relegation zone.

You're avoiding facts to suit an agenda. I don't even know why, Wood's just crap.

Wood got 3 goals in 17 games for Burnley this season, 1 in 6. Weghorst has got 1 in 10.

What is your logic that they're better without him? Cos they got points since he left? So have we so by that logic we're better with him in the team. He'd been their top scorer for the last 4 seasons with double figures each season in the Prem.

As I already said, I believe Trippier, Targett, Burn and Bruno have made the most difference. Wood has often looked lost and very poor.

We needed a striker in within days and triggering a release clause meant we could do that instead of all the haggling that goes with normal signings.

Not that i'm defending his signing but that was the reason, we were desperate.

Plus I think we expected to get another striker in as well.

I assume it isn't JUST Howe that will be involved in transfers, yes it won't be an Ashley scenario where players are lumped on managers whether they want or not, but still I'm sure the owners will have a proper team to review and recommend transfers.

If we stay up he deserves to lead us with some cash next season.

I like him and his mentality to the game, I haven't forgotten that our squad is gash in large parts and for a few weeks we were over performing.

We need to sign another CB, another midfielder and a striker who isn't a weakling like Wilson.

Tbh Max and Almiron need to go, we need two players on the wing that can actually be useful an entire season and not now and again.

If we are poor then obviously sack him, that's the game.
