And just watching Sky Sports News we are linked with a move for Watford player Mariappa is this true n if so why we don't need any more defenders?? Or it sky just assuming with the malkay link?? I hope someone is worrying about closing deals on MM's behalf. We've a big game on Tuesday and wouldn't want transfers getting in the way of preparations. Can't see us getting 3 players in as we'd like, 1 would be nice, 2 a bonus.
I can't believe the owners will let this window pass without some significant signings, preferably purchases, but the right loanees this time will do if they do us a job. I agree about Matty Phillips as being a great buy if we can get him. Unless Blackpool are strapped for cash, and surely they can't be with that parachute money, I can't see Holloway letting him go to a promotion rival unless the offer was upped substantially from the £800k reported.
blackpool are a well run club who will be under no pressure to sell whatsoever, £800k isnt alot of money nowadays but i agree i'd be surprised if we dont get anyone in, we need wide men and another striker IMO

Wasn;t meant as a jibe Sparky , it;s just that when Cardiff had a small wind up order , when the new owners took over , everyone assumed that that was why no one came in in January . Now Cardiff are close again , with ample opportunity to pick up a little help in January , with no wind up orders or anything & ........... nothing doing . Seems a bit odd is all . Hope someone comes through the door before it shuts , could be the difference between auto & playoffs .
Hiya sparks and hilts. Sorry to take so long to respond to your earlier posts. I've no problem with anyone making comparisons between DJ and MM, and as you correctly say, comparisons are reasonable. I just said that I didn't want to. It's just part of my new policy of trying to move forwards - a personal thing. Some great points and contributions to this thread, and I still maintain that adding to the payroll only happens if an outsting opportunity arises. Based on his record to date, I'm sure MM sees it the same way.
