Granted he has been successful or lucky to have great people around him or players at his disposal. But he has had his abysmal failures on the past as well. Some of whom you will painfully remember. I don't recall West Ham being top half Prem for 8 years under Redknapp. Spurs did play some great football but then having bucket loads of money made available to you should enable some success. What did they win however? Being 3rd in a League that is also generally regarded to be ****e when we were 3 points clear at one stage with most of our rivals already out of sight is not a remarkable achievement at all. I'm not going to be guided by the ill informed views of the majority of English football supporters. Gareth Bale is a prodigious talent. Spurs got him and he blossomed. I have little doubt that if it had been another manager at another club he would have flourished in exactly the same way. Is Redknapp to be credited for finding these players and or nurturing their talent or for simply buying them? In Defoe's case 3 or 4 times and then discarding him on each occasion You are right in that he ain't the man he's been built up to be but frankly for a manager at the end of his career his haul of silverware given the backing he's had is actually pretty average.
good points Yorkie and i was asking more about who else has done anything similar. Like you say, his haul of silverware is terrible considering the amount of time he spent in the game, but the same could be said for Alan Shearer, LeTissier, Gazza and many others. i think its prob wrong to judge them on thier silverware but its the norm. Wenger hasnt exactly done much in the last 5 years either and look at his backing? it just seems strange to me that the likes of Sol Campbell, david james etc all suddenly found (England ) form under him. I certainly dont buy into the hype but i am left wondering whio else would have put us in this position coming up to the run in? As yet, no-one has given me an alternative. Does anyone honestly believe that Nigel Pearson Or Dyche would have us any higher GIVEN OUR CURRENT SQUAD? Personally im not sure. they probably wouldnt have even had half these players, but then again, we'd probably be mid table. We have to accept (like it or lump it) Harrys mandate is to get us promoted BY ANY MEANS NECCESARY..And if that means hovering around 3-5 place with 16 game to go, then thats OK for now (thats ITK INFO BTW) Granted we dont look good, we set up very defensively and dont score many, BUT he's keeping us within touching distance of promotion and thats all we can want at this moment. Like I say, im not sure i buy into the hype, but if he does get us up will he go down as a QPR legend like COLIN? I understand the frustration of St holders and those that attend the games, but believe me flights t Melbourne & accom work out more expensive. i willing to back him until the end of the season and make my judgement then. I dont really think the players are as good as they are built up to be & thats been shown by Burnley, Derby & Leicester... With regards to Gareth Bale...SAF gets the credit for Beckham, Scholoes & Giggs Wenger gets the credit for Van Persie, Henry, Vierra Jose gets it for Lamps & Terry So yes, i think it is right that Redknapp gets it for Bale.
Fair point Kiwi....and If we make the play off finals i'll join you in calling for our Moroccan to come back.....you think he'll come help us out at Wembley?
most likely he would probably love a medal seems as much of a glory hunter as the rest of the merceneries we have
