Even as a self-confessed HR fan it's hard to counter this. Our style has been just plain awful all season and whether we win or lose seems more about the alignment of the planets than any great tactical plan. BTW it was noticeable how workmanlike Derby also were last night but McClaren is getting a bunch of average players to give 100% and is organising them well. Contrast and compare with far superior players (Carroll aside) having so few ideas.
Yep, both Derby and Burnley looked hungrier, sharper, worked harder and posed more of a threat. All the attributes you need to get out of the Championship. Whereas we looked like a team of prima donnas. Never seen so much whinging, whining and petty and needless fouls. I've put up with it up until now as we've been in a good position despite being ropey so I hoped we might finally click and push on. But I now have to admit it. We stink.
Harry is tactically clueless and a football dinosaur. Same goes for Bond and Jordan. They are approaching games like a team trying to scrap points and stay up. Rather than setting a team out to actively go out and win football matches he sets out not to lose. Iâm hoping that the drip drip drip effect is finally getting through to Harry that he needs to attack. Heâs acknowledged previously that we cant press up high with Dunne and Hill as CB so he needs to bite the bullet and drop Hill. With Green Hughes, Onouha, Dunne BAE and at least one DMC sitting at all times He should trust them enough to keep it relatively tight and allow the other players to get forward and express themselves. The gap between the strikers and the midfielders last night really was embarrassing. Iâm not sure what he expected Krancjar to do picking the ball up in our half or the middle third. He doesnât have the pass or dribbling ability to go on an Adel like run and carry the ball upfield to create something. And Oâneil on the right summed up his approach. If Harry announced today he was resigning I would be delighted. But he will leave at end of the season but without a dent to his ego because it is never his fault. Our main hope is Derby and Burnley picking up some injuries to key players
I agree with every word of that, other than dropping Hill. I'd definitely drop Dunne for Onuoha. Dunne is a clumsy, slow awkward CB and again looked so dodgy last night imo. His attempt at a clearance when the ball was shoulder height was almost beyond hilarious. Hill is just as slow but rarely misses a header and looks safer to me.
I have to admit to being a bit of a Harry fan, but its slowly wearing thin for me. im not sure if there is a master plan to be in the top 3 with 6 games to go but i bloody hope so. Maybe he's not as good as made out, maybe he needs others around him or maybe there is some other reason. Personally I'll give him to until the end of the season before i make any judgement but I've got to say that I'm not overly impressed ATM Come on Harry, show us what your made of?
What winds me up the most about Harry is the way in EVERY interview he gives he constantly bangs on about how good the opposition are, After the Burnley game Shaun Dyche quite rightly spoke about his players saying how well they had played, Harry comes on and all he talks about his what a good side they are, what terrific players they have etc.I'm sure it must annoy our players,it bloody annoys me.
No wonder they start so **** in every match, redknapp has convinced them they are playing Brazil every bloody week. He will also say this has been his hardest job etc if we do manage to go up, everything is so predictable from him.
Last season I saw us win just 4 matches, the season before was not much better. This season I feared a relegation battle and although not brilliant to watch, it has been as good as I could have hoped. On the pitch we are collecting almost 2 points per match, off the pitch we have a new ground to look forward to, along with the new training ground (I know it's not plain sailing but that seems to be our way) and an owner who looks like he's here to stay. For years we have had no stability at the club, with so many managers coming and going that I can't even remember some of them. If we got a hungry young manager how long would our fans give him if things didn't go well. Some of the Arsenal fans at work stopped watching their game against Liverpool at 2-0 because it was so awful and they were so rubbish. I hope or fans never become like that, but I don't hold out much hope for some.
Deary me. Last 6 games, 4 wins. 1 draw and 1 defeat. I went last night and yes the result was dissapointing, but christ knows what you lot would say or do if we were in or around the bottom of the table. This site really embarrasses itself at times. Some of you need to get a grip, or just bugger off and support another club.
First I thought he was the bloke wot was in Night rider but I googled him and it turns out he's a Stoke player on loan at Burnley
You must remember the guy that actually bought the great Manchester United for 10 Million and even paraded his ball skills on the pitch. Only problem was he never actually had 10 Mill at all, he was just a blagger that almost pulled off the greatest ever blag. I realisere in writing this that it is unfair to put Tony in that bracket and Will refrain from my smartarse reference. I'm sure he's a good man with good intentions but by jove I with he could pick better Football managers and administration. Stay safe. N.B I cannot soften for Harry, sorry
