    I wouldn't say Macanuff would be realistic tbh. I cant see him leaving reading to go to any team in the same division.

    I'd go for ayala, fred sears (maybe unrealistic) and maybe jason koumas?

    Probably not realistic anymore but James Morrison or Chris Brunt a few years ago would have been great signings

    I would go with Danny Ayala too so that we would have a strong centre back pair for years to come of Chester and Ayala

    Absence makes the heart grow fonder. I think this is definitely becoming the case with Daniel Ayala. Don't get me wrong, he's a good defender and I hope we sign him, but I don't see that he's any better than Chester or Gerrard, and everyone's getting a bit too excited about him. Don't forget we didn't actually have him that long (about 10-12 games-ish?) and he was good then but not amazing.

    I personally thought ayala looked better than gerrard when he was here. Looked far more composed on the ball and had good technical ability for a centre half.

    I'd like Ayala and Chester to be our first choice centre back pairing next season, but I think it more likely that Hobbs will get one of those spots.
