I think the signing of N'Doye along with the dropping of Davies, the appointment of Mike Phelan and the last two performances and results have instilled a belief amongst the majority that we will be staying up. If the team perform to a similar level as the last two games in the next half a dozen then there's no way we're going down.
Don't worry, give it a few back to back defeats and you will have the naysayers riding back in on the four horses of the apocalypse, predicting the end of the world as we know it.
You've been told before, albeit being a supporter of the"Tigers"Brisbane,Relegation hardly affects " YOU", like it does to the morale of fans living in "OUR" community. Hey Brisba were'nt you planning to fly in & see the team live at some point this season. Or have you already been & gone
I came and went at the beginning of the season. Saw the European game and then went to QPR for the first match of the season. I know it may be a little sad but the one thing i do miss living out here is watching Hull City live, although i begrudgingly (In a yorkshire, don't like having to spend money way) have Fox sports to at least watch the games on TV. I do realise though that being out here does stop me from being able to have an opinion about Hull City, and hopefully i do know my place. But saying that when i lived in Hull, i was never as good as some of the other supporters who had been watching every game (First, reserves, under 21s, womens) home and away for the past 561 years.
What a load of bollocks. You have as much right to an opinion as any other fan. It's what's inside that counts. You're as much Hull as anyone on here. You're less likely to take it for granted and have a wider view on life too.
I don't think we are particularly weak in any positions. So I'd say keep picking up promising youngsters and move for any class acts that become available. That is, any player, in any position that's a significant upgrade on what we already have and shows an interest in coming to us, then sign him up. Depending on the costs and if they're a **** of course.
I thought Harper had said he's taking up a media role next season & he's doing coaching for someone, possibly part time, so we definitely need another keeper, could it be Oxley as the challenger? SB must have seen something in him when he offered him in the contract when we were all saying he's a goner. Same with Jak. Maybe one of the kids will come through in a couple of years, but maybe we need an experienced keeper unless Oxley is the challenger to McG. Midfield all depends on who stays, if Quinn signs the new contract can we have 4 first team central midfielders? TH, JL, DM & SQ, if I'm not forgetting anyone, also Snodgrass is a wide player so will he play in a 532 or 442? If 442 then we won't need that many central players & more of the winger on the right as cover for Elmo, which leads to the RB position, we need cover for Rosie/Elmo, will that again come from the youth set up? Finally up top, we definitely need a fourth striker, again maybe a youth player, or from the lower leagues, we can't do like this season with the injuries we've had. I think a lot will depend on who's available on free's as well. So overall, a new keeper, maybe No1 or back up, who we already could have. Defence, back up at RB, LB, the centre I think we have enough. Midfield, depends on the system, but cover needed across. Striker, another to challenge.
I wouldn't make too many changes to the squad, continuity will be better, and I think the squad is a strong one capable of far more than we've seen this season. I think if we avoid relegation, the experience from grind of this season along with a full pre season together without a World Cup getting in the way will see this lot produce far better performances. Obvious areas that need strengthening are left back and in goal, and I think we could send Meyler or Quinn packing and get a different option in midfield, but other than that I wouldn't really change anything unless someone of real quality comes available. I'd definitely look to sign Ramirez too, or if not a similar 'number 10' type player to give us the option to play that way if we want to. Edit: I might also be tempted to send Ince packing and get in a real quality left winger anarl, we'll see how he gets on at Derby and in pre season. Maybe now he's had a taste of premier league football he can see where he's falling short and work on his game to become more effective at the top level.
I don't think we need a overhaul. Four or five good signings. I'd also like us to try and stay British if it's possible.
Hmmm, not sure why he'd want to go, SB has given him what he had wanted at WHU for the passed 2 years; a free central role to attack.
As long as we stay up I can't see that Chazz, as he has some exciting options to play off, an improved defence and more improvement to come. Fully fit he can be a very bright star for Hull City AFC - but perhaps you're confusing it with Hull Tigers.
