One site shows it wider but another doesn't. I would go for the one with the same dimensions as allnew stadia are laid out to a standard size as there are now regulations regarding this for internationals and .european games. The Emirates is identical to the KC, so is the Etihad.(The new Wembley is slightly smaller than the old one.) The same thing goes for RL. The pitch for an RL game at Wembley is the same as at the KC. Again that didn't stop Gollum from wittering about the effect the supposedly large pitch would have on the players.
Dunno how reliable this is but 1. Manchester City, City of Manchester Stadium, 116 x 77 yards, 8932 2. Manchester United, Old Trafford, 116 x 76 yards, 8816 3. Southampton, St Mary’s Stadium, 115 x 74.5, 8740 4. Stoke City, Britannia Stadium, 115 x 75 yards, 8625 5. Aston Villa, Villa Park, 114 x 75 yards, 8550 6. Swansea, Liberty Stadium, 115 x 74 yards, 8510 7. Arsenal, Emirates Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436 8. Cardiff City, Cardiff City Stadium, 114 x 74 yards, 8436 9. Norwich, Carrow Road, 114 x 74 yards, 8436 10. Sunderland, Stadium of Light, 114 x 74 yards, 8436 11. West Bromwich, The Hawthorns, 114 x 74 yards, 8436 12. Chelsea, Stamford Bridge, 110 x 75 yards, 8250 13. Fulham, Craven Cottage, 110 x 75 yards, 8250 14. Liverpool, Anfield, 110 x 75 yards, 8250 15. Everton, Goodison Park, 109 x 74 yards, 8066 16. Crystal Palace, Selhurst Park, 109 x 72 yards, 7848 20. West Ham United, Boleyn Ground, 110 x 70 yards, 7700 http://worldsoccertalk.com/2007/10/22/top-20-biggest-pitches-in-the-premier-league/ An old bit of trivia, I thought Burslem was the widest pitch in the leagues??
That list isn't totally accurate or up to date. Our pitch is 115 x 74 yds (105 x 68 metres) which is the FIFA regulation size for a category 3 or 4 stadium. A lot of stadiums conform to that, at least the new builds, as does Wembley. Pitch sizes can be other dimensions but they would have to revert to the these as a minimum for internationals or European games. I always though Doncaster had the widest at Belle Vue and the old Millwall one was the narrowest. Pitches didn't bear any relation to playing styles. Wolves in days of old were renowned for wingers but had one of the narrowest pitches. Highbury was a very small pitch. Hard to believe but when Scarborough were in the football league their pitch which wasn't the longest or widest was the second largest in the football league in terms of area.
It's ironic that we used to moan about getting Wigan in cup games & now it's our ideal match (if we beat Sheff Utd).
I know we're literally leagues apart but the blunts are flying. I'm pretty nervous plus i had a dream they beat us which has put me in a bad mood
We will smash the blades 6-0 BUT we all know in reality anything can happen . Wigan v Sheffield United could be the final.
They are flying against s***e opposition. How long have you been supporting City? Quality wise, this is the best team we have ever had. Seriously, if you are nervous about us losing to the blunts (2 divs below us) then I would give up watching City. If they do beat City (they have no f*****g chance) then i will be first on here to say I called it wrong and as a punishment I will go to watch Hull KR play a league match. Be very excited Olly but not nervous.
