I suspect you've not read the thread, this has all been clarified already, and you've got it wrong. There's four stages of qualifying Q1 Q2 Q3 Play-Off round If we were to qualify as FA cup runners up we'd go in at Q3 and have to progress through 2 rounds to qualify for the competition proper. If we were to win the cup we'd go straight in at the group stage.
I am working on us losing the Final to Arsenal. But yes a Cup win will do. For sure it would give SB the advantage on player signings in the summer by offering european football. I want a PL starting 11 and a Cup starting 11 plus extra's. We need to keep our best 11 for the PL only imo. But no reason why we cannot have 3 seperate cup runs next season either.
Here Tickles, for yours and anyone who falls for your incompetences benefit "There are three qualifying rounds and a play-off phase before the group stage, which consists of 12 groups of four teams who play each other home and away in autumn 2013. The knockout stage follows in spring 2014, with the final taking place at the Juventus Stadium on 14 May." http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/season=2014/accesslist/ Or are UEFA wrong about their own competition as well?
Just had a look at their fixtures. Itâs probably beneficial for us that they keep their play off dreams alive as theyâre playing Saturday and Tuesday consistently up to playing us. Naturally, we donât want them in top form, but surely fatigue could be a factor on that Wembley pitch if theyâre âplaying catch up*â for the play offs. * Henry Kellyâ¢
That's very similar to the thread title. Personally I prefer referring to your club as the Sheffield Blunts.
You have a very valid point, with all those games and the sheer size of the Wembley pitch, our players are cozy with the ball and will be able to tire them out. Come 70 minutes the pigs will be running on empty after chasing the ball round all afternoon, then it's time to batter down the weakened gates, catapult ten goals into their net and send all the little piggies squealing all the way home. They can skip the market anarl.
We should have an advantage then. The KC pitch is same size as Wembley (which won't stop Gollum and others on RH going on about the affect the wide opens spaces of Wembley will have on the game) whilst Bramall Lane is 3 yards shorter and 2 yards narrower.
Unfortunately the ferry company isn't exactly football friendly. By the time Corcoran has finished they probably won't take us. Or Corcoran will ensure that for the first time all the bars and duty free will be shut.
Blunts won again tonight, 10 in a row now, games in hand and the playoffs within reach. It's going to be joyous when we humiliate them at Wembley.
Genuinely didn't know that. Wembley is actually 1m wider, buts its hardly a big difference. Wembley should be bigger than that IMO, although that would hugely favour the favourite attacking teams, and make an already difficult task for most underdogs that play there even harder.
It sure will. We won't humiliate them we'll devour them. 10 ripe bacon rashers for the tigers to gobble down. Breakfast.
