Torres was a superb player when he was at Liverpool. Probably the best out and out striker in the world at the time. The difference in him after he went to Chelsea was remarkable. Obviously he had some success at Chelsea but overall he was pretty awful.
He was crocked before he came to us. After that his confidence was shot and he simply couldn't get it together.
He was more than terrible. He only had one full season at Liverpool injury free 07/8. 08/9 he was still very good but injured a lot 09-10 worse By the 2010 World Cup he was truly dreadful, no pace and touch. Dunno what Rafa and LFC did to him. He was done at least six months before we bought him. Even genius Rafa could not get any Prem goals out of him 12/13 despite building the side round him
He cost Carlo his job too, and did not help RDM and Avb. The Chelsea fans backed Torres all the way too. Dunno why: he was the most self indulgent of all players. A big baby
This is always a great old thread to read if any of y'all ever need cheering up http://www.not606.com/threads/bayern-tottenham-munich-hotspur-vs-chelsea-19th-may.145312/
You should sticky that CL thread Surprise surprise. Apparently Torres is on fire - literally. 5 goals in last 6 games for Atleti in League & CL. Way to go Nando!!
I won't be surprised either, given our Scouting team's competency. He hit the woodwork yesterday and so close to scoring. However, that was the only contribution he made in all of 90 minutes. Lazy & poor most of the times. Least working team member in THAT Atleti 11.
