I'd say, still persist, because even if only one person laughs & eight get angry, you've still brightened someones day! Risk it for a biscuit.
If the worst were to happen...... how would you console yourself? Support Sheffield United. In all seriousness I have no emotional attachment to the place but feel they went down for reasons known only to themselves. This year they have proved they are a cut above other teams in that division and I for one, feel sure they will gain promotion. In the wake of impending promotion, I suggest they will do very well in next season's Championship. They are a club with a support similar to ourselves, have a decent manager, players who can only get better and a youth development system that would appear to be more than adequate given last season's performance in the FA Youth Cup. An outside bet for promotion to the Premiership next season. In response to the original thread, not even thinking about it!
Reading the original post it is obviously a joke, albeit black humour! It made me smile. As for Pompey, a spell in League 1 would do no harm. Saints certainly benefited from it.
The difference is between us and Pompey is that we were just starting out on an adventure full of hope...there's a lot that needs sorting before their visit to league 1 will be fun.
I agree, L1 could have been awful & led to worse had it not been for Markus. But looking back now, oh my, how exciting was it when we started signing players like Lambert & Fonte, even on minus ten it felt great to have the club in good hands, & weren't they just that!
I remember Portsmouth FC didn't they used to be our rivals or something until really good teams like Reading and Brighton came along. I had forgotten all about that lot down the road until you started this all up again. They have made their bed let them lay on it I personally couldn't give a tinker's cuss about them. We have bigger fish to fry these days.
