I would pretty much give Adkins all season, as I don't think staying up should be first priority. It's where the team is in ten years, not four or five. The long-term plan is still on track. Saints are playing a modern style suited for top-level teams, and the academy is being revamped and young players are starting to come through with JWP being the first. Until they can fully stock the team from the academy youth the next best thing is to buy young players who can still be molded to play the Saints way and who can be purchased cheaply but be maintained through their prime years. All of that is on schedule or ahead of schedule. The teams' results right now are ahead of schedule. The team got good before they had fully put into place the infrastructure to support it. Which is not really a problem as long as they don't allow that to alter their plan. I look at it like if Saints had not been promoted, but instead finished mid-table we'd all be happy. Then if they had spent on the summer and put together the squad they had now, we'd be ecstatic. And in two years if Saints were in the Premier League with Lallana, Maya, Mayuka, Ramirez, Schneiderlin, Clyne, Gazzaniga, JWP, Shaw all having panned out as prospects, in the team and at their peak or nearing their peaks and some great youth prospects in the pipeline, we'd feel confident Saints were in a perfect place. There is really nothing stopping that from happening. I am worried that players will want to leave Saints if relegated, but if Cortese and Adkins feel like they have that under control or those players can be sold for profit, then it really doesn't matter if they stay up this year or not.
...you know, the annoying thing is that if we win 3:0 on Saturday (a definite possibility), I guarantee the main topics of conversation on this board will suddenly be around how far up the table we will finish. We have played four games. FOUR - not ten, not twenty. Three of those four games were against teams those of us with a brain stem didn't really expect to beat - yet we could easily be sitting here with 7 points had we been a little less naive and a bir more lucky. Yet all we have had over the last week is threads about how rubbish we are, how pathetic the managment is for not popping down to the premier league players shop in the summer and getting what we needed, how quickly the manager is going to be fired and who we want to replace him. Quite frankly, a lot of people here need to grow up.
Jenny and lamballana i love your positivty and i commend you for it the thing that really frustrates me with the 2 of you is you can't read or if you can you read a post take no notice of it and then respond with exactly the same thing you always do. Maybe you should try and stick to the subject in hand and if you don't have an opinion then rather than posting the same thing over and over just leave the post and don't return.
I can't believe people queing for hours and hours just to get an iphone5 - don't these people have lives?
50% of people I know with an iphone, they have a smashed/ cracked screen. Is this the fashion or is it really just a ****e phone?
I've had my HTC for over a year and despite the daily "get out of pocket and fling it across the room", the screen is still intact.
